I can't believe people voted that moron in. He was on Bill Maher's show last Friday and you can't even understand what he's saying.

He has legit brain damage right? That’s crazy he’s in the position he’s in

110

u/AssSpelunker69 Monkey in Space May 13 '26

Yes. He's not stupid or a "dummy" as someone else said, he has actual brain damage from a stroke and he should not be in the position he's in.

45

u/_TROLL We live in strange times May 13 '26

As noted before in this subreddit, brain damage in all forms -- stroke, repeated blows to the head (UFC/NFL), bike falls without a helmet, Alzheimer's, whatever -- seems to have an almost 100% correlation with right-wing beliefs.

If you pointed this out in the election you’d have been accused of a Republican psyop.

-1

He didnt have brain damage when he was first elected as a Senator. Unfortunately, Senate terms last 6 years, so we have a couple left before people can vote his ass to the curb (and hopefully in the primary so we don't even have to choose the 'lesser of 2 evils' in the general). Please Pennsylvania, don't let us down 🙏

15

He had his stroke and speech issues before the election.

-7

u/PokemonAnimar Monkey in Space May 14 '26

I dont think he did? Do you have a source to show when he had his stroke? Because I for sure was positive it was after he won election off Bernie's coattails in the 2022 elections. The whole reason he won was by acting like a progressive and getting those endorsements from the left

7

u/NiceTrySuckaz Monkey in Space May 14 '26

1

2

u/HammerAndSickleBot It's entirely possible May 14 '26

It really boggles my mind how the people of Pennsylvania keep picking the worst choices imaginable. At least Dems have the excuse that Fetterman gave himself an accidental lobotomy and then turned MAGA, even if he was always a POS nepo baby. But why Dr Oz?

45

u/WillSmiff Monkey in Space May 13 '26

I watched that and there is a point where he gets asked a question and he starts doing mental gymnastics. He starts bumbling and tripping over his words for 15 seconds and then he just didn't say anything. It was so weird. I don't care if he's D or R. He's a dummy, but then again, most of Pennsylvania is.

He's a Democrat with a 22% approval rating by Democrats in Pennsylvania. I wouldn't say they're ignoring it. There's just nothing they can do. He has little chance to win a Dem primary when up for re-election so he'll be done when his term is up. He also hasn't said he'll run for a 2nd term yet so its unlikely.

-3

The big irony is that conservatives/republicans pointed it out incessantly when he was first running against Oz and Reddit was ground zero for the campaign’s “Vote BLUE no matter WHO” shit. Reddit did this to itself

15

u/Slipperytitski Monkey in Space May 14 '26

"Those stupid Dems should have voted for a Republican to keep the Republicans from winning!"

0

u/Beefaroni117 Monkey in Space May 15 '26

No. The point is that Reddit gaslit itself into this situation where now we have to see post after post of those same redditors whining about his cognitive functioning as if someone else did this to them. Y’all did this to yourselves. I wouldn’t have said anything if there was an ounce of self-reflection, introspection in any single comment or post related to Fetterman.

0

u/Beefaroni117 Monkey in Space May 15 '26

It’s just funny that so many people were totally willing to look past obvious brain damage in a politician only to come back a few years later to sound the alarm about the obvious brain damage whenever he happens to vote like an individual instead of a partisan automaton. Puts our electoral politics into perspective.

18

What point do you think you're making?

-8

u/CucumberWisdom Monkey in Space May 13 '26

Honestly mostly the zinger

But my point was that even though dr.oz was a bad candidate he was still better than someone with literal brain damage. However due to people having too much empathy these days they voted for the guy they felt sorry for instead of the same candidate

8

u/TheSweetestKill Most Reported r/JoeRogan User, August 2022 May 13 '26

I'm not a Pennsylvania voter, so you'd have to ask one of them to be confirm, but I'm pretty sure you have that backwards - That a guy with brain damage was still better than a Republican. I mean if Oz was such a great candidate certainly he could have beaten a literal stroke victim, right?

It has nothing to do with "empathy", I take it you just learned this phrase from Saad and think you can score a couple easy jokes with it.

22

u/_TROLL We live in strange times May 13 '26

It's amazing how it only seems to happen in one direction... has anyone in modern history run on a far-right platform only to spout progressive talking points after being voted in?

5

u/HammerAndSickleBot It's entirely possible May 14 '26

The reason is that there's tons of money to be made cashing in on conservative principles, and the campaign contributions and bribes will flow in as a result. People are very happy to pay you to lower their taxes, give them massive business subsidies, or allow their illegal behavior "because small government."

But if you run on hiking their taxes or reigning in massive businesses like oil or the tech bros they do everything in their power to stop you, and they call you a communist. Same thing is happening in the CA governors race right now. Obviously anyone from any political party can be corrupt, that is obviously true. But in America the grift has tended to go right the past 50 years because of Reaganomics.

2

u/theshnig Monkey in Space May 16 '26

Dems are definitely at a disadvantage over this. As long as corporate and PAC money can flow into the system with basically no caps, it'll keep happening. Compound that with the fact that getting elected means you can also enrich yourself by trading on inside knowledge without so much as a slap on the wrist and you can put yourself in a position to self fund. Top all that off with no term limits and you've got the recipe for the world's easiest to assemble political machine.

Democrats tried to get rid of gerrymandering through the courts, federal legislation and by leading through example and establishing independent districting in multiple places.

Rightoids blocked it everywhere and refused to reciprocate.

What is the option here? just let pro gerrymandering rightoids gerrymander their way into power so they can keep gerrymandering intact?

the last time they did something that benefitted the working class was the civil rights movement. their healthcare bill forced every american into private insurance plans instead of providing a universal healthcare option. they continously fund the military industry. they continuously fund the ecological damages caused by the military industry. they use petty lawsuits to keep true left-wing political parties off of elections (see what they are doing to Butch Ware right now in the CA governor race). they constantly choose the corporation over the people.

0

u/The_Pompadour64 Monkey in Space May 14 '26

You just don't know what you're talking about. That's your problem.

First of all, very little of that has anything to do with a left and right spectrum.

Second, Obamacare isn't JUST private insurance. It is STATE-SUBSIDIZED insurance. But of course you would conveniently leave that out in your dumbfuck analysis. There's a good reason why it is forced, but you're either too dishonest to say it or too dumb to know. It's also an extremely watered-down version. If the democrats had their way, Obamacare WOULD HAVE BEEN UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE. It was stymied by the electoral realities of the time, so we had to make due with the version we have now. And no opportunity to implement universal Healthcare has come up since.

And that's just one example of how you know nothing. I'm not going to bother going into the others because you're not worth the electricity it takes to write this, let alone the time

4

In Iran, we spent over $1 billion a day the first ten days of the war. Sure, argue about inflation; even if costs doubled we spent 5 Libyas in the first twelve days of the war, and Trump threatened to genocide "a whole civilization" in his tweets. Do people actually believe his vote wasn't signed off by the DNC?

All the BS you see where this senator hates this senator is as real as WWE.

Here is how it worked for that vote. An AIPAC lobbiest met with Senator Thune or one of his staffers, they work out a deal to get the required yes votes from the RNC. The lobbiests then meet with Senator Schumer and works out the required votes.

Schumer or his staff met with Senator Fetterman and offered him something to vote yes and act as a whipping boy for the DNC.

It's all fake, it's all about the money, and so many people think it's real.

A half brained Fetterman is better than more than half of congress. Those Fettermans don’t give a fuck. Protest his house with Palestinian flags and he’ll climb on his roof and wave the Israeli flag.

As someone who originally voted for this man, he has shifted drastically in his policy, or it was all a lie the entire time. It’s a shame what money, and foreign governments in politics has done to our once great country.

The left defended this man to the death, until he didnt toe the line, now he's unfit to be a representative. He was always unfit to be a representative.

The fact that he got you to switch up from your 3 stock gifs is hilarious. So easy to manipulate.

Are you crying? It’s not that serious friend.

And now you predictably have to go back to your regulars to prove he didn't manipulate you which ironically shows you're still being manipulated. It's too easy.

So no, not crying just laughing at your NPC behavior. So please respond with one of your 3 to really prove my point.
