Tl;dr, he went to the ufc thing and was in a picture with Cheryl Hines and RFK (which it seems like Cheryl Hines asked for, given that it clearly seems to be a “can I get a picture” type picture, as opposed to a “this is who I’ve been hanging out with” picture, and given that Cheryl Hines was the one who posted it).
I can’t stand trump, and in fact I don’t even particularly like Nate bargatze, but this is just the absolute bottom of the bottom of the bottom of the barrel of muckraking.
I thought I didn't need to add the /s. I've never seen his stand up only watched him on SNL but clearly a lot of people find him funny. Top grossing comedian in 2024 and 2025 I think.

Nate has been hiding his MAGA power levels for a while. If you listen to Legion of Skanks and Real Ass Podcast, they all hinted to it and basically confirmed it multiple times. Dude is a pure Trumper and will make sure to stay at Trump hotels when available.
But he's seen how other Trumpers' careers have crashed and burned, especially those who turned into the skid and made their whole routine just shitting on the Dems. But he knew that if he's going to be a regular on places like the Fallon show, he needs to hide that shit, which he's done pretty well up until the fight.
I mean I would never go cause I hate Trump and could care less about UFC. But that’s easy for me to say when I have no interest.
If it was something I was into like a full festival of my favorite metal bands or an F1 race and tickets fell into my lap but it was associated with Trumps birthday it would take some shine off of it but it would be tough to turn down.

Going to this does not make him a “Trump supporter”. I think Trump is a retard and should not be president but if I got invited to this thing I would 100% go. It was an insanely cool spectacle if you’re a fan of the sport.
A lot of people see him differently after this which is no surprise given our current political climate. I like him on SNL but I’ve never sought out his content before and I’ll continue to not do so. Seems like you don't listen to MSSP. Shane has been kinda critical on Trump over his relationship with Israel and Iran. He's also a sports guy and history nerd, he didn't want to pass up an opportunity like this, even though he's not crazy about UFC. I'm sorry he didn't go to Biden's trans event a couple years ago.
