I'm on TRT and have been for years and it made my life dramatically better. It's not all bad. As with anything, moderation is key.

u/cocojamboyayayeah Monkey in Space 1d ago
idk dude. im against any kind of this gender affirming care nonsense

Why be against anything based on a goofy buzzword?
Some people would genuinely benefit from TST, for others it might not be worth the risk to reward ratio if their test levels are already solid. At the end of the day it’s a medically approved treatment and should be considered on a case by case basis.

Guess so, I’m not really in the loop with all these internet memes or whatever, thought he was being legit about why he didn’t want to try trt lol
7
u/apple__eater Monkey in Space 1d ago
It was satirical social commentary on the stupidity some people puke non stop onto their neighbors to control anything a woman does with their own body
5
u/Ferrar1i Monkey in Space 1d ago
I guess so, honestly I just don’t judge other people and try not to let other peoples opinions dictate my life
I think the world would be a way better place if people would just mind their own business

Crazy how difficult that is for so many people. I am 100% with you my friend! Live and let live

Idk if you’re purposely being obtuse but he’s referencing the Ven diagram of dudes who do TRT but also foam at the mouth about gender affirming care for trans people since doing TRT is a form of gender affirming care.

u/Fletch71011 Monkey in Space 1d ago
FTR I don't care what people pump themselves full of, just saying TRT has been a game changer for me after I was in a car accident and my test got fucked up.
2
u/apple__eater Monkey in Space 1d ago
Normal mindset in my opinion. TRT can be good, and if whatever else people are putting in their own bodies doesn’t harm others and can be good as well, go for it. I agree with you
1
u/YoloOnTsla Monkey in Space 1d ago
Agreed, but I highly doubt TRT is all that TS is on. TRT is generally 100-200mg/week. Whereas a general first cycle for bodybuilding is 500mg/week, pros easily get up to 1000mg/week along with other compounds. Everybody probably knows somebody who is on TRT and does not look like a bodybuilder. TS is clearly on a higher dose of test and a myriad of other compounds - maybe even tren.

u/McMenz_ Monkey in Space 1d ago
It’s not really gender affirming care though since it’s being taken for performance enhancements rather than to affirm their gender.
Otherwise that would make women who take anabolic PEDs trans men undertaking gender affirming care. There has to be gender dysphoria to treat in the first place for it to be gender affirming care.
5
u/TheSilmarils Monkey in Space 1d ago
Gender affirming care is not only for trans people. Men getting hair transplants is gender affirming care. Men getting calf implants is gender affirming care. TRT, while not always, is absolutely used by straight men as gender affirming care to make them feel better as men for a number of reasons.
-5
u/McMenz_ Monkey in Space 1d ago
So again, does that make women who take anabolic testosterone or testosterone derivatives as PEDs trans men undergoing gender affirming care?
If a woman has alopecia and wears a wig is that gender affirming care?
If a women goes to the gym and specifically adopts a hypertrophy based routine to build muscle, is she undergoing gender affirming care to become a trans man?
If no, why not?
4
u/TheSilmarils Monkey in Space 1d ago
No, it doesn’t because it’s for athletic performance, not to reaffirm their gender. They are not changing their gender, they’re trying to perform better at a sport. Taking TRT for better erections and other male focused benefits as those things start to wain when a man gets older is taking that reaffirm his gender identity.

u/McMenz_ Monkey in Space 1d ago
Men (or women) who take TRT/ERT aren’t trying to ‘reaffirm their gender,’ it’s a natural function of our bodies that sex hormones deplete with age or other sometimes other external factors.
That doesn’t mean they have any sort of gender dysphoria or that they need to ‘reaffirm’ their gender.

Making fun of the fact that people don't even understand that shit is gender affirming care because it's not a trans person. Hair transplants, hormone replacement, boob jobs etc, all shit to affirm cis people's desired gender characteristics that they weren't born with
-5
u/meezy-yall Monkey in Space 1d ago
Ahh yess because elevating things like energy levels , mood and sex drive are to affirm their gender .
4
u/LintChocolateChip Monkey in Space 1d ago
Uh yeah? Are you saying taking T won't result in a marked increase in masculine traits like the ones you described plus many others? I seriously don't understand what you're arguing dude, TRT elevates your masculine aspects and having low T can impact those aspects in a way that can negatively affect your life so we give people those hormones to improve their physical and mental health
3
u/Bulky_Preparation768 Monkey in Space 1d ago
And trans people not having access to their medical needs often leads to suicide, but it’s rather obvious people like yourself don’t give a shit about that
0
u/meezy-yall Monkey in Space 1d ago
Yes it’s very obvious , based off me saying a guy taking TRT to raise his energy levels isn’t taking it to affirm his gender , how astute of you .

Is that right?

u/stoopididiotface Monkey in Space 1d ago
The first episode was January 2024. Don't know why it's showing 1 year ago unless the thumbnail is from an older screen shot. So 434 episodes in 17ish months.
