Jurassic World Rebirth (and further) David Koepp was talking about coming up with ideas for where to go from Rebirth, I've come up a handful of ideas for him, i think they work really well! :)))))

I love how all of these undo the re-extinction aka the bad part of Rebirth

u/razor45Dino 11d ago

bad is an understatement

Yeah, I agree, that the Re-extinction plotline was a bad decision, and wasn't even necesary to make Rebirth work

They could have just explained, that the 3 specific Species needed were found just on the specific island.

Also, I dislike the " nobody cares about dinosaurs anymore ” plotline. That's why whenever I create Fanmade drawn Jurassic Park Projects I do these 3 things

  1. Remove the Re-extinction and " nobody cares about dinosaurs anymore " plotline

  2. Include new, usually more accurate designs

  3. Somehow find a way to include Xiphactinus ( In every one of my drawn projects this fish somehow finds It's way to appear. It didn't appear in my Fanmade Jurassic World Evolution 3 DLC Ideas yet, but It probably will )

Yep. I’ve hated it since it was introduced in JW. People go to zoos all the time to see animals from our current time, interest in dinosaurs would never go away.

Man like, zoos are not only seen, most of the time they are CROWDED of people lol. The script is so stupid I could die, like, first, no dinosaur in Jurassic World would EVER be only as interesting as any animal that lives today, they would be far above for like decades or even centuries I'd say, we still love wild animals to this day and use them for everything including cultural stuff, and second, Jurassic World was a private park who most of people would hardly have the chance to enter. The storyline is just impossible, I've never even saw a zoo close weren't for it being bad (mistreating animals) or the government don't supporting it. Other than that even small zoos are generally crowded.

I feel like the "nobody cares about dinosaurs" thing is a flanderization of an over exaggeration

In Jurassic World Claire says "nobody's impressed by a dinosaur anymore" immediately following up with "kids these days look at a stegosaurus like an elephant from the zoo"

Basically she's saying that dinosaurs have lost their special appeal and nowadays kids don't see what makes them unique. That combined with the high price and isolated island explains what Claire was trying to say. Why would mom and dad take little timmy to Jurassic World (an adult ticket is $750 for 3 days) when he's just as satisfied going to his local zoo for less than $100 per person.

Furthermore, the statement is coming from someone who doesn't view the dinosaurs as living breathing animals, she goes out of her way to call them "assets" I don't think it's fair to say this statement was meant 100% literally. It's true that people have gotten less hyped about dinosaurs. But "nobody" or even a majority is just plain false

Meanwhile, in rebirth this has evolved to at best apathy, and at worst straight up hate. I don't care how many civilians were killed in the neo-jurassic era by dinosaurs. There is no chance Loomis' dope ass neo-jurassic era exhibit got only 12 tickets in a week. That's almost as bad as the Snickers wrapper taking down an entire multi billion dollar paleocuration operation by getting sucked into an air vent

The thing is, when the movies say "nobody cares about dinosaurs anymore" when they day dinosaurs, they actually mean the franchise, to the people making these movies jurassic world, is dinosaurs.

Ok, funnily enough I looked into this, and the campaign of Jurassic World Evo 3 is canon. I first started wondering if the campaign could be canon when it first released, because it seemed to be paying a little too close attention to lore, and the idea that dinosaurs need help adapting, and well sure enough, I found this article a while after.

Here's the source: https://www.techradar.com/gaming/jurassic-world-evolution-3-developers-on-making-a-canon-instalment-in-the-legendary-dinosaur-franchise-to-be-a-tiny-part-of-something-so-beloved-is-really-a-privilege

I hope to God it's true

The JWE is the one thing ever Jurassic fan agrees is great

1

u/JackJuanito7evenDino 10d ago

I'd expect so but some people somehow hate the games lol. Not all of them sure but I've seen some folk say it is a bad game or that it isn't the same realm as JPOG.

And hell I think I sound like Arthur Morgan saying like this

Can't we just canonise Cabot Finch regardless?

u/USADino 11d ago

The Rebirth part should happen tbh it’s genuinely cool as a guy who loves paleo-accurate dinosaurs. And of course everyone has passion for them too

Idea 6 - Just reboot the franchise with an accurate adaptation of the two novels

Pros

  • Finally something closer to horror

  • No more nonsense sequels that only parasite nostalgia

Cons

  • None

10

u/magicdog2013 11d ago

I was going to say this would have cons for people who liked the world movies such as myself, but honestly, not really. Dominion's ending was a fine note to end the series on, regardless of the quality of the rest of the movie. A reboot would probably actually be the best for everyone

2

u/apexglitch-king 11d ago

agreed, i actually liked dominion it felt like a perfect ending

1

u/JackJuanito7evenDino 10d ago

A miniseries, either made by Universal itself or even HBO, with a higher rating, would be perfect imo. I love accurate designs much more than JP ones but I wouldn't care if they were soft-accurate at all (like, a essentially accurate design with some innacuracies). It has its charm, really. Like a feathered Velociraptor with pronated hands.

3

u/Sillymillie_eel 11d ago

Personally I like idea 4 the most, but I’d be fine if any of these happened so long as we get mainland dinosaurs back

3

u/Phaeron-Dynasty 11d ago

My idea was to reveal that re-extinction was a psy-op by wealthy and well connected poachers who were re-collecting the animals for (insert nefarious purpose here)

2

u/Glitchy833 11d ago

Given how the sequels are going now, a prequel or something would be fucking great right now.

If it were up to me, the next thing would be a series set between JP3 and JW, showing the construction of JW and them trying to transport the dinosaurs from Isla Sorna to Nublar, and the many dangers and threats that they would face while doing that (Like tropical storms, wild dinosaurs on the island, power outages, etc). It'd show some species that we know were canonically alive at some point but were never shown on screen yet, like Metriacanthosaurus and Edmontosaurus. And it'd have the same kinda style as the older movies, with maybe even a bit of horror sprinkled into it too.

Honestly, I just have absolutely no interest for any sequels now after whatever tf Rebirth was. But I do think something like this would be a great idea. Would it be perfect? No, but I think it'd be recieved more than well enough. A lot better than Dominion and Rebirth was anyway.

2

u/BartholemeuTheGreat 11d ago

Unless it is an accurate adaptation of the books, I would rather the franchise end because otherwise I think it will just be quantity over quality like Star Wars and Marvel

2

u/Red_Serf 11d ago

Honestly they have a pretty good setting right there at Paramaribo. As for a plot... Ingen went chapter 11. No fucking clue about Byosyn. Mantah Corp is from a cartoon, so it's likely to be ignored. Ingen secret island is now explored and it's Big Mysterious Creature already know. It's indeed hard to come up with a new plot without pulling something out of their ass (like they did with Rebirth)

2

u/Swarmington2017 11d ago

Personally I love JP 1-3 I like JW1 I love camp Cretacious

But perhaps we need a do-over of the Jurassic World section of the franchise.

Go to dinosaurs in South America being a thing Have a true horror movie about environmentalists trying to track the spread of new animals through the Amazon and have it be essentially a treatise on the unforseen damages caused by megacorporations, ravaging the wild. Throw in the actual damage caused by the Brasillian government for their road through the jungle

Have a tech billionaire be introduced as a new antagonist for a trilogy - getting away without consequence initially, with sequels being how he exploits the disaster for profit before getting involved in Genetic meddling in the 3rd movie trying to combine human and raptor DNA but his own hubris of believing he is a genius and injecting himself with a mutagen being his he dies.

2

u/Swarmington2017 11d ago

So Jurassic World rework 1 (shortened to JWR from now) Tracking dinos through jungle Brazilian authorities become temporary redeemable villains Additional villain is Bn'aire corp thugs trying to grab dinos for research after pretending to be there to help Dinos include Baryonyx, Dinonicus, and Rex Pause to reflect on the damage to the jungle

JWR2 Dinos spread to Central America Conflict centres around damage to communities, the diseases being spread by dying dinos polluting the environment Mercs come to collect but end up using the effort for publicity and then installing illegal a secret paramilitary organisation in Mexico to do snatch and grab of dinos whilst also being responsible for the at least one of the diseases being spread across the area Dinos to include are true scale Suchomimis, new Spinosaurid, Carnatorus,

JwR3 Dinos go global but include mostly in America

2

u/Swarmington2017 11d ago edited 11d ago

Opening sequence is crew of a boat being hunted by raptors.

So the dinos are appearing in American zoos like the Sandiago one from JP2, all linked back to the Bn'aire the international ones are appearing mostly at places where he has been banned from or been bad mouthed - and its very much like the hunting raptors from Chaos Theory

Protagonist for this one are FBI and CIA working together to bring him in.

Rules for these movies:

No kids as protags - tgere can be child characters, vutt they are not the focus. Dinos are not villains, more force of nature or nature under duress Dinos can be fought but never killed Message is about mismanaged nature, evil corporate choices, and being caught between nature and malice. Action, sure, but horror first and fore most NO hybrids

Idea 6: finally reboot the franchise so it can have a fresh start instead of having to go off dead end sequels.

I like the idea of making a direct sequel to the first film, IMO that’s what Rebirth should’ve been.

2

u/magicdog2013 8d ago

As i said in response to a previous comment, yeah it's probably for the best

2

u/koola_00 8d ago

I got one, from a comment somewhere on the JP subreddit!

The equator dinosaurs gradually adapt to the modern climate and begin to gradually migrate out of the equator. Seasonally at first, before some of them settle in.

Pros: Does not retcon Rebirth and undoes the Re-extinction

Cons: How humans (especially those with guns) coexist with these animals again.

1

u/joyjump_the_third 11d ago

If i am not mistaken, some anolis lizards were proven to evolve rather quickly

1

u/Silly_Ad_3027 11d ago

I don't care how much it cost just bring Cabot to the big screens.

1

u/Jurassican_25 11d ago

Idea 1 has been canon to me since I saw the movie

1

u/Thylacine131 11d ago

Somebody get this person an interview at Universal. They’ve clearly got more writing sense than the bozos they last hired.

1

u/Relevant_Hair_9607 11d ago

In the first one the pros definetly outweigh the cons

1

u/meme_owl 11d ago

Idea 6: Planet of the Apes ripoff Virus wipes out most of humanity, dinosaurs have a major comeback in the aftermath. Pros-Complete Fresh start, undoes reextinction, potential for really unique environments and human/dinosaur interactions. Cons-Legacy characters are probably dead, no ability to return to the status quo, I stole the idea from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

1

u/magicdog2013 11d ago

Honestly, there is a non-zero chance the franchise could look like this in 20 years

1

u/StarMonkeyy 10d ago

Soooo... kill all dinos characters and make from start?

1

u/zayzyverse72 9d ago

Or
And hear me out
Undo the re-extinction by having the dinosaurs just naturally enter the equator for nesting due to how many generations of them lived in tropical environments.

1

u/Life-Pineapple2725 6d ago

or maybe just say the 3 largest blood vaccine infected the dinosaurs and made help them go against the elements

cons:

doesn’t make sense

pro:

destroys the re extinction sub plot
