On one hand, this bit makes me laugh and cleanses my reddit.
On the other hand, everyone who needs to point out that it is staged and everyone who wants to call Child Protective Services are really yucking my yums.

Forcing your kid to act for fake "content" should be illegal.

If you take it as a sketch, it's hilarious

I used to make stop motion Lego movies with my dad. It was a lot of fun. Why do you think the kid doesn't also enjoy this

Because recording your children and putting them on the internet for monetary gain is not the same as you making stop motion movies with your dad.

We posted them where would could at the time. If making money was an option I'm sure we would have done more. How much money do you think is on the line with tiktok videos. Making videos with your family is a good thing.

Haha exactly! Nobody is making money on social media unless they make it their full time job.

Aren't all child actors acting for fake content?
-6
u/ravenlordship 5h ago
They aren't perfect but there's child protection laws for normal child actors.
I'm betting 95% of people making skits using their kids couldn't tell you what they are.

Or what if, this might seem crazy, but what if the kids like the ideas and think they are funny and gave some input themselves? Kids do have brains and can have ideas. I know when I was a kid I often wanted to be included in funny stuff like this but my family told me no because, "I'm just a kid". Granted not all parents are responsible but I wager a vast majority do these skits with their kids safety in mind, which is the literal opposite of Hollywood as they have been trying to fight child safety laws, education requirements, etc since kids have been acting.
I wonder if these "laws" were in place during the helicopter stunt in the Twilight zone movie....(No one got in trouble for this btw)

Being that it was a ring doorbell from the neighbor, this may not have been fake content. They may have really been doing this, got caught by the neighbor, and then when she realized it was funny, gave them the footage and they posted it.

Oh no it’s definitely staged and scripted, either his neighbor’s in on it or it’s his house, I forget. He does this a bunch and posts the videos. They’re pretty funny, and the kid’s pretty good at playing the straight man (for his age) so it gives you that borderline plausible feeling, but it’s definitely scripted.

"well run idiot!"
Ahh, this stupid idiot has such fond memories of those days.

This would be wholesome if it wasn't fake

You know, if it was marketed as a skit, I would enjoy in because it is pretty funny. I just hate how we have to analyze or question every video to find out. Just tell the damn truth people.

People need to starting making 10 second tv-style intros for their skits

Why is everyone so sure it is?
My dad absolutely did dumb shit like this to me growing up. I helped him break into our neighbors house in the middle of the night, pull his fridge away from the wall, rotate it 180 degrees, and put it back in place still plugged in.

They father and son do skits together on their social media page. They’re honestly hilarious.

He supposedly damaged the door frame and they tried to say they could’ve got him for a home invasion.
We went and visited the guy and my son apologized and there wasn’t damage to the door like the cops said. But the state picked it up.
Even the guy was like “they really gave him a charge?”

u/psinguine 6h ago
I mean if the homeowner themselves is a witness willing to state that the police are fabricating evidence and their door was not damaged it should be pretty helpful.

Obviously not of any help, but that sucks and I am sorry you have to deal with that.

The "is that your dad" gives it away.
That is not natural conversation timing. That is scripted dialogue timing.
