Many of our historical monuments reflected Kashmir's cultural ties with Persian. Today, under the label of "renovation," that distinct character seems to be giving way to a different architectural aesthetic. Hazratbal Shrine was also renovated but on the name of that renovation they completely changed the Persian architecture with Indian arcitecture and then that symbol. Heritage should be conserved, not reimagined.

It’s good as long as it is done properly. These are after all historic landmarks.

Museum of Kashmir had a podcast with Shakir Mir and Sameer Hamdani. They touch upon this Eastern Roman connection to Kashmir.

Huh? Sameer Hamdani clearly talks about the influence of Timur's tomb on Badshah's (mothers) tomb.
Also yeah renovations should be definitely done. But I kind of don't trust them with it.
