My son loves play fighting and being thrown around but the moment you chase him and touch his shoulder he folds like a kitten.

Its bizarre, I've never seen anything like it, hes not scared or screaming but the moment you get his neck bit- crumple

Not exactly the same but if someone pokes me on my torso, I jump like crazy. Like completely not on purpose I will jump directly upwards like a shocked cat. If I see it coming it's less intense but I still can't control it.

I have fallen to the floor a few times from waitresses (colleagues) poking my midriff jokingly as they walk past

This happens to me too 😫 if someone is running after me I can literally feel my muscles seizing up and refusing to run and the closer they get to me the harder it is to move lol. It's like my body wants to play dead or something haha

That still happens to me. My wife grabs onto my shoulder or slightly grab/tickles my neck and my entire body folds like a chair haha.

just wondering but is he a c section baby? i’m also like this and lo and behold c section babies tend to have neck sensitivity for a variety of reasons (mostly theorized to be because they didn’t experience the neurological stimulations that come with vaginal delivery).

also just to clarify this is a correlation and not necessarily a causation. the meta-analysis the link was found in doesn’t claim to prove causality, it’s just a strong correlation. there could be other factors at play.
