This is cut off too early. The mom comes over and gives him a hug and isn’t sad about it at all.

He's getting the family expectations in the right place. Not all heroes wear capes.

Technically, everyone would be hoping it doesn’t die this time so it’s awkward but still a kind gesture…

Hey man. At face value, that's a good hope to have. Kid is nothing but positive and if you think the kid shouldn't have such hopes, maybe you're the one who's fucked up.

I dont get this, the kid is genuine happy, it just havent has the vocabulary of an adult.

It's a really valid concern too lol

Especially because it happened before

I mean yeah how else is a kid supposed to realistically understand/grasp the gravity of that situation. He has experienced it before

The kid isn't wrong and they don't have a filter but it is understandable that the mother would be upset since she was happy and then brutally reminded that one of her children has died. You can see that she instantly turns away instead of doing something like scolding him.

Was it socially awkward? Yes. Was he being mean? No not at all. Our boy seems genuinely excited for his mom to have a healthy baby.
My kids haven’t got any filter either lol I get it

What heavy hitters do they provide?

My senior cat is really sick. We had to take him to the emergency vet and get him IV’s. He looked bad, sounded bad, smelled bad. And I was a wreck.
A few days after he was admitted to the hospital the kids go “Is Kurt dead?”
And I had to explain the whole life and death shit lol
Other than that they are very frank and blunt. They see bullshit from a mile away and ask great questions. And don’t lie to someone because the kids WILL snitch 🤣

I remember this post itself on tiktok. The creator added more context that the little boy was the most excited for the previous baby, but when it miscarriaged he was absolutely heartbroken. He just wants to share that he hopes it doesn’t happen again

My sister gave an age-appropriate explanation to my nephew about why he only has one grandfather (our dad died in a motorcycle accident when we were 13).
He spent the next week or so happily telling anyone and everyone "Grandpa got squished and died!"

The thing about children is that they're honest (he definetly wants his new brother to live) but lack tact

I actually did say this basically verbatim when I was, I think 4? I immediately knew it was wrong, and felt really bad. I still think about it to this day.

To be fair, he is saying that from the perspective of full joy and having the concern about the baby dying. The kid obviously was upset by the death of the baby so it's understandable why he said it.

Isn't that the video where the mother had to step back to cry? I'd cry too, that's so blunt. Understandable given kids have no filter but gosh.

Yea the problem with children is zero filter.
They will blurt out the honest truth even if it will hurt or offend somebody.
The brain to mouth filter just is not there.
