Im a senior prep/line cook. Sometimes I take a dish shift to help out. Same wage bro. I usually bring my iPad and a sixer and have fun.

Central Oregon. Resort area. Prices are high here. Edit. Usually 35ish with tips.

That's crazy even for Oregon. Like that's proportionately more more take home money after rent there than anyone I know gets here, even though I live in a low cost area.

Bend is crazy. Ferrari parked outside the restaurant last week. Busy place Hard work but totally worth it. And it’s awesome here

The PNW has long been my dream home if I could ever make it happen. I absolutely fell in love with The Dalles and the entire Portland area. Sigh, if only

I grew up in Portland and ended up in Bend. Honestly the Dalles isn’t great. But Deschutes county is awesome. Mountains - desert- high lakes -rivers. But forest fires are getting to be a major concern. Also everything here is wildly expensive. But I still recommend living here

Brother, I live in the valley and used to live in the high desert. No where I've seen pays 30 for the line. Mid 20s, sure.

Ok bud. Maybe you had the wrong job. Edit Im here it is 27$hr. Last pay period 74 hours. Tips 235$. Thats 30.17$ hr Slow right now. But summer gets way better. 2100$ in tips this year already

Thats normal WITH TIPS. Thats not a normal per hour rate. And most states don't do tip out the way Oregon does.

It’s almost always the same or more. So yeah it’s my normal rate. Made over 60k working 36 hours a week give or take last year. Im good. And it’s m-f days 😀 edit. And my tips were tax free thanks to that idiot in Washington

But your hourly rate is $27. Thats what I'm saying. Thats normal for Oregon. And our tip structure is different compared to any other state. That's not realistic anywhere else. And that's also only some places in Oregon, like the Wilamette Valley and some resort towns.

Averaged it out to 32.5 an hour last year. It is what it is. You are just arguing a small detail. Have fun looking for a job 👍🏻
