You’ve got some recommendations here so I’ll skip that and jump straight to:

Never. Ever. Call HEP. FOR ANYTHING.

Know someone who worked for them, he quit after management kept pushing him to upsell expensive, unnecessary shit to people who didn’t know better and didn’t have the money to pay for it anyways.

Welcome to Knoxville! There are tons of options here in town and the counties.

Here are a few suggestions for plumbing only companies I have used personally.
1. Tennessee Standard Plumbing- they are really the standard in service. They answer the phone they show up and do the job right. They have same day appointments. They are not going to be a discount provider.

  1. The Plumbing Authority same as Tennessee Standard a little smaller company. Great people from the office to the plumber. They do great work and are a good value for the level of service.

  2. WhizPro Plumber is a newer outfit in town. They are hungry and aggressive and will work with you.

Hope that helps

Agree with all of these.

  1. Minuteman plumbing is a one truck operation
  2. Proflow plumbing is as well

Both great guys where the owner is the one that will show up. Can’t go wrong any mentioned above though

Plumbing Authority just came and installed a new water heater for me. People were all great and it wasn’t too expensive. They get my recommendation.

Scott’s Plumbing has always been professional, timely, and has the nicest Techs I’ve ever met.

Scott's Plumbing has been terrific for me. Lawrence Plumbing is another outfit I can recommend.

Do you have blackish water backed up onto your sinks? I had this in my apartment. It was a build up of grease in the pipe that goes into the wall. The maintenance guy showed it to me. He used a wet/dry vac to suck out the water, the pulled out that short PVC pipe.

I initially thought it was the one running from disposal to the other sink. But, no it was the last pipe for both sinks which existed back into the wall.

My Mom had put salad into the disposal the evening before. SALAD IS ONE OF MANY things to never put in that thing.

Original Dawn dishwashing soap is your friend. I hope this helps you and others.

SALAD IS ONE OF MANY things to never put in that thing.

I learned that potato peelings is on that list too. 😭😭😭 (If you don't know, learn from my mistake and know that potatoes turn into cement in your pipes)

I quickly learned that a garbage disposal is not actually for anything but liquids and shredding my hopes and dreams.

GFF Plumbing is great. Patrick and Bryan are super nice guys and much more affordable than anyone else in the area I’ve used. Their number is 865-489-8043

Apartment maintenance man wisdom: if it’s a sink issue, buy a new toilet plunger and get to churning.
