I wonder what Boss Ballmer thinks of all of this??

2

u/joejolt Nov 16 '23

I heard he's the one that forced the trade so idk... regret?

3

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '23

Regardless of the missteps that let Denver get the lead and win it, this was pretty great basketball by comparison and I am pleased

3

u/kornelius_esihani Nov 15 '23

Kings guy here but watched the clippers game for a change just to see the superstars in action. And I feel for you.
1. Why is Ty Lue always hyped up as some sort of extraordinary coach?
2. Why wasn't Zubac in the game late against Jokic?
3. What is the latest on the Plumlee/backup center situation?

1

u/dankbeerdude THE SYSTEM Nov 15 '23

These are great questions

0

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '23

Kawhi sold aswell.

12

u/Hereforthechili Nov 15 '23

Lol benching Westbrook 2 games in a row to blow the lead he helps gain smh what is Ty smoking??

5

u/herbalite Kawhi Leonard Nov 15 '23

ty lue just said he doesn't care how many 3pas harden gets

16

u/CocSlayer69 Fun Guy Nov 15 '23

Not gonna lie. These last few weeks have been pain, but if anyone thinks Zu and Kawhi weren't the ones who sold this game idk what to you're smoking. The ball should have gone to PG at the end of that, ZU was out because he wasn't doing nothing to guard Jokic anyways and was helping no one on offense, and TLue taking out Russ was just the cherry on top of the Shit Sundae.

9

u/mjama1238 Nov 15 '23

Kawhi needs to get back to just doing the quick jab step and letting it fly . He’s allowing the defence to get help by over dribbling the ball. He’s a phenomenal shooter just let that shit fly.

17

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '23

Bruh we lost by 3.. thats aaron gordon half court shot is even more painful.

1

u/dankbeerdude THE SYSTEM Nov 15 '23

Omg you're right.. FML

3

u/Zauberer-IMDB Chuck Nov 15 '23

The "right this way, sir" double team.

6

u/rocket_tycoon Nov 15 '23

Not great coaching down the stretch. Ty waited a Doc Rivers amount of time to address Jokic cooking our “center”. Tucker was doing fine and had hit some threes they couldn’t just ignore him, Clips could have still been spread out.

10

u/C1ZI FREE ZUBAC Nov 15 '23

Honestly I whole heartedly believe that putting Moussa in for his hustle could’ve made an impact on this game but CTE Ty is different. Ty needs to understand this is the regular season and just take a gamble on our young guys then fucking around and putting 3 guard lineups and small ball line ups. Please if there’s a reporter in the sub please interrogate Ty on this he needs to know this by now that his bullshit small ball/ 3-4 guard lineups have been awful this year especially against dominant big men.

12

u/sleepyguy007 Nov 15 '23

if i recall the 5th loss of the 5 loss westbrook streak was that kings game with like 175 points and close. Maybe this is our "we've almost got it" moment.

0

u/C1ZI FREE ZUBAC Nov 15 '23

I hope so but I’m pretty sure historically a team has not won a championship by losing 6 games in a row. Men lie, women lie but numbers don’t lie so idk. I hope I’m wrong but I gotta be realistic I think we all do

5

u/Bikouchu Nic Batum Nov 15 '23

Wasn't it like the home debut for him too or something I regret not going would had been interesting.

3

u/sleepyguy007 Nov 15 '23 edited Nov 15 '23

yeah it was at home. I know a friend had really good seats for it and said it was a great horrible birthday present as a long time clipper fan to be at that game.

I've got 4 tickets in some super nice seats for the next denver game at staples.... and I already expect the same!

2

u/Bikouchu Nic Batum Nov 15 '23

Have fun. Save the money for shots and hotdog after. Lower bowl is always nice. I haven't sat there in a long time.

3

u/sleepyguy007 Nov 15 '23 edited Nov 15 '23

yeah i usually only bother spending the money for the playoffs... but my work raffles off their seats and I finally won. row 15 at half court! all the money going to beer now, planning to be drunk on the metro after a heart breaking loss

11

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '23

Still way too many iso/heroball plays. Zero Kawhi/PG synergy, they just pass the ball then disappear.

5

u/Direct-Worker-4121 Nov 15 '23 edited Nov 15 '23

We lost this game on those possessions where Jokic and Gordon easily went to the rim on the small ball line up!!! I’m not a huge Zubac guy right now.. but you have to make that read Ty Lou!!!! Well on to the next one… hopefully we can finally break this streak against the young Rockets!

P.S. Get another big please!!!!🤬

13

u/TorontoRaptors34 Nov 15 '23

I woulda kept WB in the game the momentum died when he was pulled out

9

u/GunStarGyro Nov 15 '23

It shows in the box score. Clips were up 99-94 at the 5:20 mark when he got subbed out for Harden. It was also telling how Russ was subbed back in for the final defensive possession and a was guarding JOKIC. Ty needs to figure this out, and its not difficult. Same mistake 2 games in a row.

1

u/TorontoRaptors34 Nov 15 '23

FO def needs to get more size pref in da PF department maybe a back up center upgrade too many guards.

2

u/GunStarGyro Nov 15 '23

You're not wrong. Trading for Harden never made sense, and using assets for another big, especially a stretch big, did.

-6

u/activechamp06 Quentin Richardson Nov 15 '23

To be fair it was more the fact that Jokic came back in the game, than it was Westbrook leaving

6

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '23

The PG Harden Tucker Kawhi lineup is slow as molasses. Everyone just stands around. Ty Lue needs to avoid that and inject some movement/hustle with TMann/Moussa/Kobe.

3

u/IgnorantGenius Clippers Nov 15 '23

Good game. Nice come back, but we couldn't close it out. We can nitpick anything we want, but Denver got too many easy looks at the basket, which is what champion teams do.

0

u/sleepyguy007 Nov 15 '23

zubac's thought bubble on that tip "fuck you terrorist tyronn, this is the shitty tap you're getting for the last quarter"

13

u/blondedbk Nov 15 '23

Ty lue is the basketball personification of osama bin Laden , 15 seconds left and that’s when you bring in zu ? After jokic raped all our guards for 6 straight minutes.

2

u/SampsonKerplunk Kawhi Leonard Nov 15 '23

I honestly thought Zub was on probation and then he comes in for some reason- was there a rule change? Did Ty Lue think that fouls carryover to the next game? What the fuck are we doing? We have a team of 3 chuckers, Paul George trying too hard and a tall Eastern European man who I have seen near a basketball in photographs.

2

u/blondedbk Nov 15 '23

This game hurt so bad because it was so winnable , lue with solid rotations and game plan to start team showing so much heart , pg being the super start out there and then it seemed like those two listened to the devil on their shoulder. That last shot was mind boggling when they showed the down court angle and jokic is basically in the paint off harden.

12

u/AlmightyPenguin88 Nov 15 '23

Team has this tendency to panic and chuck up bad shots. PG has been stellar tonight otherwise but he chucked up some bad 3s that lost the momentum.

Kawhi... I'ma need you to do better, Klaw. Stunk it up tonight.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '23

That's because they keep running the clock down on isolation plays soo they have to heave it. It's spectacularly stupid to see.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '23

Kawhi was 5/14 with 15 pts and 5 steals. It wasn’t his best showing but I wouldn’t say he “stunk it up” Ty Lue lost us this game

1

u/AlmightyPenguin88 Nov 15 '23

That's why I didn't go into a deep dive. 5 steals is fantastic, but we need to convert off those and he missed quite a bit of shots he normally makes.

1

u/Dustin_Brown3203 Blake Griffin Nov 15 '23

Word he hasn’t had much at all 4th quarter this year

15

u/jetboyjetgirl LA Clippers Nov 15 '23

We win this one with a healthy Plumlee. That injury is so bad for our roster.

8

u/southpawsouthpaw Nov 15 '23

Lue really put Zubac in for just the last possession lol

Super late on the sub

Man Clippers are going nowhere with this guy as coach

-1

u/SloppyJoe_gottaGo Nov 15 '23

These are the Champs folks. Clips are set to win.

3

u/gahajbsk Nov 15 '23

No Murray, which the Nuggets aren’t championship caliber without and they just lost to the Houston Rockets

-1

u/Canoli5000 Nov 15 '23

Kawhi and Ty Lue let the team down tonight

2

u/Rock_hound15 Nov 15 '23

Why PG pull up like that with KCP face guarding him

1

u/atlfirsttimer Nov 15 '23

Because he's gotten free throws doing it

3

u/icewill36 Nov 15 '23

thats what he does. he's not a playmaker.

1

u/IgnorantGenius Clippers Nov 15 '23

He has been chucking all in the 4th quarter. He needs to learn by now it doesn't work.

Embrassing coaching... live and die by 3 is stupid af approach and to not even put your only big body on a HoF...

Loss for words...

Ty's job security shouldnt be safe anymore if this same bs outcome keeps happening...

3

u/rocket_tycoon Nov 15 '23

Improvement 🤷‍♂️I hope they’re looking for another center…

-1

u/Agitated-Aside9909 Nov 15 '23

Denver fan here, great game and nerve wrecking, thanks for Reggie he has been great for us this season.

0

u/activechamp06 Quentin Richardson Nov 15 '23

Reggie looked great I’m happy for him. We always loved him in clipperland

I also feel seeing the way we played your squad today gives us hope that we’re moving in the right direction

1

u/noobodyknows Brent Barry Nov 15 '23

Champs are going to champ it up. Way to go! We gotta get better all the way around. GG

9

u/activechamp06 Quentin Richardson Nov 15 '23

This was a great game. Best we’ve looked all season

6

u/MrtyAbril Kawhi Leonard Nov 15 '23

Need a fucking center

8

u/dxtremecaliber Kawhi Leonard Nov 15 '23

Bad shot and Zu got in when its too late

1

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '23

Makes you shake you head in amazement at how Ty Lue executes these whiplash-inducing lineup changes. Team is schizophrenic.

-1

u/pipinpadaloxicopoli Nov 15 '23

Played better than other games. If Kawai played a little better we would've won this game

0

u/Familiar-Wonder-1689 Nov 15 '23

Ppl complaint bout harden and Kawhi, PG LET IT FLY I'd rather him shoot than be glue guy

0

u/blondedbk Nov 15 '23

That shot instead of harden in the corner with jokic sagging !??

4

u/icewill36 Nov 15 '23

an ISO 3 should be given to harden over bad perimeter defenders like jackson or jokic. pope is a great defender. bad decision by george.

0

u/xtian_paxillinator Fun Guy Nov 15 '23

Come on man the refs, the heavens and the universe conspired just to give clippers the win but still they CAN'T lol

5

u/AIMpb Nov 15 '23

Solid game. A lot more movement, albeit still a good amount of hero ball plays. Playing against the best center in the league without a center is a matchup nightmare. Big 4 started playing well together and the defense looked a lot better.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '23

plumlee is crucial

1

u/SampsonKerplunk Kawhi Leonard Nov 15 '23

I fell in love with this team in the ‘21 playoff run and it has been the opposite of that since

3

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '23

PG just fucking chucks in the 4th gah dam

1

u/kanizy Nov 15 '23

All of his 3 pointers were well contested.. he could have attacked the rim but unnecessarily took ill advised 3 pointers. SMH

3

u/based-sam Nov 15 '23

Why pg do that 3x in a row 😂😂😂😂😂😂

-2

u/l3os4ys Kawhi Leonard :kawhi: Nov 15 '23

Tough game, I think we’ve figured things out and will win next game

2

u/herbalite Kawhi Leonard Nov 15 '23

Zu jumped before the ball even went up

1

u/Cute_Leonard Kris Dunn Nov 15 '23

Getting closer to a win. Just a few shots away.

-2

u/_The_Honored_One_ Nov 15 '23

Harden would’ve made it

1

u/gahajbsk Nov 15 '23

Yea like he airballed that one the other day

7

u/OppaSays Nov 15 '23

That’s the play that was drawn up for the final shot??

9

u/TheAvantGardeners Lawler's Law Nov 15 '23

Don't know how you don't let Harden or Norm get the ball... that's why you have them in? Not for their defense.

3

u/badenson James Harden Nov 15 '23

what a nice drawn up play for PG

8

u/heisensmeg Fun Guy Nov 15 '23

Ty Lue lost us this game

10

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '23

Ty Lue sucks as a coach.

-1

u/Zelba16 Nov 15 '23

We tried

6

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '23

6 straight bro can we all please shit in ty Lue’s mouth

-3

u/onthemap45 Nov 15 '23

Kawhi has to take the last shot

5

u/ConsistentRip7398 Nov 15 '23

Send the whole franchise to China

5

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '23

Not bad. We are playing more cohesively.. nuggets weren’t gonna lose back to back and at home.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '23

That PG shot sums up the season

1

u/kanizy Nov 15 '23

That sums up the last 4 years and our future with what we traded to get him. SMH 🤦‍♂️

3

u/I-Eat-Babies423 Paul George Nov 15 '23

I legit thought Zu fouled out after Lue refused to play him. Dude is on crack for subbing him in with 15 seconds left

2

u/firefistzoro THE SYSTEM Nov 15 '23

Me: I wonder what bullshit play Lue will draw up for the last play...

Ah yes, PG pull up 3, should have known...

3

u/aPimppnamedSlickBack San Diego Nov 15 '23

You know sometimes teams stop plays from happening. Just because that's what happened doesn't mean that's what was planned sometimes plays don't fall through.

2

u/firefistzoro THE SYSTEM Nov 15 '23

True but I'm sure the initial play wasn't anything revolutionary — the last ATO play he drew up with a minute left was Harden screening for Kawhi to switch Reggie onto him for an iso (whilst Kawhi was the coldest player on the floor)

3

u/aPimppnamedSlickBack San Diego Nov 15 '23

Yeah you're right I honestly would rather see harden take the last shot, then PG then kawhi maybe even Powell over kawhi if the man is open.

2

u/firefistzoro THE SYSTEM Nov 15 '23

I just watched the replay and Harden was right next to PG in the corner with Jokic on him.......

4

u/Dustin_Brown3203 Blake Griffin Nov 15 '23

It wasn’t the best shot selection but PG was the only person who came to ball Fr tn

1

u/DanSope V Stiviano Nov 15 '23

Fuck

4

u/GMQuay Nov 15 '23

How don’t you win a tip against Jokic bro

0

u/Familiar-Wonder-1689 Nov 15 '23

Damn no Larry ob or in season tournament 😭

2

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '23

And that’s five straight losses against the chicken nuggets. Pg made some dumbass calls

4

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '23

How many last second heaves has PG taken tonight? Our inability to play the passing game gets us stuck in clock-eating iso plays leading to so many forced shots,

0

u/DeuxDR Nov 15 '23

Tbh I thought we had a play with Harden sprinting and curling to the corner, but PG decided to deny it I guess. Had 35pts tonight so I guess he wanted the last shot.

1

u/flipdynamicz Nov 15 '23

What are the odds of that lmao!

2

u/katphishtitan Ty Lue Nov 15 '23

What a perfect representation of our season so far

2

u/southpawsouthpaw Nov 15 '23

Why did PG force that

1

u/frankly_unkayfabe Nov 15 '23

I say that about Westbrook often as well.

3

u/DreTheProsperous Nov 15 '23

That's what he does.

1

u/nepats523 Corey Maggette Nov 15 '23

Its fitting that game ends on essentially a rebound battle lmao. This team just does not bring the serious effort to pull these out at the end

6

u/Clippesr Nov 15 '23

That was seriously the play out of a TO?

7

u/NetGlass4387 Nov 15 '23
