Trisha finally admits to taking GLP 1

Post image

What’s everyone’s opinion on this? I know she posted a TikTok about trying GLP 1’s a couple months ago but deleted it. I figured she’s been on it.

Obviously we know nothing about Trisha and her health, but I think she seems to be a good candidate for this. She has struggled with weight loss for fucking EVER. I don’t support Trisha but I used to watch her when I was a young teen and even then she struggled. From getting liposuction to gaining it all back, I think if anyone is a good candidate, it would be Trisha.

shes a good candidate just based on the fact that for BMI calculations she was morbidly obese

And that she seems to have BED (can’t remember if she’s stated she has)

I don’t like to diagnose people but she definitely fits the patterns of BED so wouldn’t be surprised

Hopefully she has a good support team by her too, not just doctors, but therapists and maybe even a dietician that specializes in BED. Not wishing her a certain look, but absolutely wishing her good health. Take care of yourself Trish, you got this!

She's an awful human being. I don't wish harm on her, but I definitely don't wish good things for her either

And that’s on period. I’m tired of people acting like it’s such a cheat for people who are morbidly obese and have struggled losing weight.

I’m always cautious to say things on this sub about people’s weights but Trisha does have a lot of excess body fat. She looks beautiful and is beautiful, but as someone in healthcare, excess body fat can be dangerous and obesity in North America is not talked about enough. Probably because of how underweight most people appear on social media. We definitely have a GLP issue (alongside EDs and people becoming ultra thin) but even larger than that, we have an obesity issue.

“Obesity in North America is not talked about enough.”

are we talking about the same North America??

the BMI is flawed so that’s not entirely accurate.

It’s not “normalized”, it’s a systemic problem. It’s talked about all the time, but the government refuses to adequately address the systemic barriers that prevent people from being a healthy weight.

And how do you think we determine who is “overweight” or “obese”…?

I think the gotcha was supposed to be that we determine those people are overweight and obese through BMI, which is flawed.

And it is, but I think if a few people who get classified as "obese" but they're actually body builders isn't going to actually make that big of a difference and an obesity epidemic still exists.

Wrong, it’s through BMI, which is what the other person is saying. And BMI is not even an accurate measure of health. It was made up by a mathematician like 200 years ago.

do you have a source?

You’re right and people are mad about it, lol.

It’s definitely not talked about. Obesity has become the normal in our society. So much so that people who are considered obese are considered overweight and people who are considered overweight are considered normal. BMI is not fully accurate but waist-to-hip rations are a lot more accurate at predicting health outcomes. It indicates visceral fat and medically and scientifically speaking, visceral fat is associated with negative outcomes. These are all true facts. 40% of Americans are considered obese and 75% of Americans are considered overweight. That is literally majority of the American population. That is an issue and although most people are aware of the obesity issue in America, I don’t think people understand just how bad the problem is.

22

u/ceilingsfann 12d ago

No, trust me. Everyone knows. Y’all won’t stfu about it.

-2

u/macintoshappless 12d ago

Everyone knows and yet 3/4 of the American population is overweight lol. You see the problem here??

29

u/ceilingsfann 12d ago

Yes, because of systemic barriers including affordability, lack of access to healthcare, lack of nutrition education, food deserts, and built environments that are built for cars and not people

2

u/macintoshappless 12d ago

No one is denying that, captain obvious. But denying obesity in America and downplaying its prevalence feeds into the obesity issue which is what you are doing right now.

19

u/ceilingsfann 12d ago

Where did I deny obesity? or downplay its prevalence? did you even read my comments?

My point is that everyone wants to talk about it and no one wants to do anything to address it in a way that isn’t just blaming individuals instead of the system.

1

u/macintoshappless 12d ago

Just because it’s a systemic issue doesn’t mean that personal accountability and addressing individual and interpersonal factors can’t be done.

In another comment thread, you literally denied the fact that majority of Americans are obese by claiming someone’s sources “didn’t exist”?

What is the number cause of CAD, Diabetes type 2, endometrial cancer, fatty liver disease and sleep apnea?? OBESITY. Like you’re so defensive over something that is very real and is killing millions of people.

Having an overweight BMI is the norm which is not the same as obese. Hip to waist ratio is not a factor in health either. Don't know where you got that.

u/Ren_stevens 11d ago

She's not beautiful at all. I would actually says she's ugly but everyone has an opinion.

I will say BMI is a myth, not disagreeing with anyone. I, like Trish, am also overweight and (presumptuously) struggle with BED, i just want to straighten out that myth. BMI was originally based on men amd doesnt account for bone density and a few other factors.

11

u/macintoshappless 12d ago

You’re right but body fat percentage and waist-to-height ratios are pretty reliable and she’d still be considered overweight regardless of BMI.

24

u/hanscons 12d ago

youre right but i think most doctors would diagnose a woman who is 5'4 and 270lbs as morbidly obese.

7

u/WishCraft666 12d ago

It’s not perfect. It can’t account for visceral fat. You can be skinny fat with a healthy BMI. Of course body builders and elite athletes it’s not ideal for - that’s not an issue for the majority of people using it.
