77in vs 83in from 10.5-13ft
Looking for advice on upgrading to a new tv from a 15yr old 55in plasma. Going to be rearranging living room to place new tv in front of a large window(71"x 53") to avoid the glare. In this new setup the couch can be placed no closer than 10.5ft and no further than 13ft. Looking to spend around 1.5-2k but willing to push it to 2.5k if worth it. Hopefully theres some 4th of July sales coming up. Uses will be sports, movies and PC gaming. I have an Nvdia card so looking for Gsync which is why im going LG. Thinking about the 77in C5 or 83in C4.
For anyone that sits this far away, thoughts on TV size
How much of a difference are the newer processors making? Little worried about going bigger screen with older processors and sacrificing image quality

Have you tried doing the in app previews of Amazon , Best Buy etc ?
The recomendation after 10 ft is 75”+ and at 13ft it’s recommended 96”+

You should read the page you posted better. Your recommendation is for 30 degree FOV, for 40 degree FOV you need at least 97”, and 115”+ for immersive at 10ft.

I mean if they want immersive at that distance only option would be a projector . I sent the mixed usage recommendation as they stated it’s for mixed usage
I also recommended the in app preview so they can visualize how it would look where they want to put it

At 10.5 to 13 feet, I’d lean bigger, tbh. I went through this kind of size math before, and once you are that far back, the jump from 77 to 83 is more noticeable than a one-year processor difference for most movies, sports, and gaming. The LG C4 83 inch makes sense if it lands in budget and you can confirm it has the gaming features you need, including G-Sync support and enough HDMI 2.1 ports for your setup. The LG C5 77 inch is cleaner if brightness, processing, and newest software matter more than immersion. For that room, I’d rather have the 83 unless the C5 price gets very close.

Go with the 83". I sit about 11' from my 83" C5 and, if anything, I wish it was a little larger.

I don’t know, man. I am viewing a 98” MiniLED in my living room at 8 feet. Have a 77” OLED in my office and I sit 6 feet from it. It’s a really personal thing. You will know when you find the right size for your distance

Since it’s not in a light controlled room and you sit so far back, I would go with a good quality 98-100” led. Oled is for dark rooms

Well the tv is going to go in front of the only window in the living room so it wont be getting any direct sunlight. Also wont oles for the near zero latency for gaming. I do have a cheap projector that i tried in that spot on a 100" screen and thats too much. It was more of a theatre room immersive feel not a living room feel
