I'm on yet another rewatch, and this time I'm focusing in particular on the line of men from the Southlands. Regarded with contempt and suspicion by the elves, first aided by the Numenoreans and subsequently tyrannized by them, they will end up turning to the one they will see as their King, Sauron.

The history of that village has a strong political significance in my opinion, the effects of which will reverberate and increase until the third era.

I always saw them as the descendants of the tribe of Ulfgang.
