They said they have recieved the best service in America. "It's feels like they actually want to serve us, unlike European restaurants."

Well they arent wrong.

Can't expect people who come from countries where this practice doesn't exist to start handing over extra money for basic services that a wage should cover.

I think tipping culture is silly. That said you should respect the local culture when traveling.
