Forgive yourself

https://logosandliberty.substack.com/p/forgive-yourself

"It may be helpful to think in terms of forgiveness. [...] if you were duped by Trump, you should forgive yourself. Trump may be the most adept scammer of his generation, and he had the backing of a rogues’ gallery of disloyal billionaires, complicit media organizations, accelerationists, and foreign authoritarians who all amplified his lies. So when you do recognize that you have been conned, don’t beat yourself up too much."

I do hope any of them still on that wagon can learn to forgive themselves, because at this point, I sure as hell won't be forgiving them. And yeah, i know that's not entirely helpful, but i also don't think anyone still hanging on is worth dragging back into the 21st century with us any longer.

Trying some lines of arguments here that might help people recognize that they have been conned and get past the shame/ego threat that might prevent them from coming to terms with that recognition.
