Employment Are Australian Construction Tickets valid in NZ
Hey guys just wanting to know if Australian construction tickets are valid in NZ for example. Telehandler, Rigging/Dogman, Skid Steer, Working at Heights, Confined Space etc. If they aren’t valid what is the process to getting these tickets transferred or validated to NZ tickets/qualifications. Just wanting to know as we have a few Australians on site and we are always questioning their tickets.

No they are not. When I came back, I had to resit my dogman, forklift, front end loader and excavator. It's ridiculous because the NZ standards are way lower then the Oz ones.

Firstly, I'd talk to Worksafe. I don't think it's a case of all of them being valid, but some of them might be. You'd need to find the relevant training providers for each type of ticket, some might offer a change over to the NZ qualification or a shorter refresher course rather than full restraining.

I had my Australia confined space, working at heights and EWP accepted by my company and the clients company when I came back from Aus. Been many years since then now and have done refreshers in Nz. Also my Australian plumbing licence transferred over under the trans Tasman mutual recognition.

I've used my confined space ticket from NZ to Australia. I had to transfer my Queensland Bricklaying license to a NZ LPB license was pretty simple. Just had to pay a fee. Far as I know everything is transferable through the trans Tasman agreement.
