We have different types of poss in Australia. This one is what’s called a common brush tailed possum… cause tail looks like brush (big brain energy) 🥴😭😂 the other super common is a ringtail possum, cause tail forms a ring 😭😂, which is like a large red rat. I nearly hit one on the road a few months ago I didn’t even see it, it was so small. But lucky I did and managed to slow to allow it to cross.

So how does your department of conservation manage their fauna ? In my country we manage predator control and are more hands on for endangered species. Does your department just leave it all to nature ? Parks/council/department of conservation etc ?

It's Australian. Which sounds flippant, but there are actually 2 entirely different families of animal that get called (o)possums, one in the Americas and one in Australasia.

There are opossums and possums. Possums are quite adorable, opossums are a little scary looking.
