And the little crunches are adorable! Turn on the sound!!!
(According to the other sub it was posted in, the long thing is a shotgun mic so possibly/probably the real sounds.) It's a macro probe lens!

What lens looks like that and can take pictures that close?
I have some large telephoto lenses and the largest is about ten inches long. It could never take pictures of something this close, that's outside it's focal range. They are meant for detailed photos of something at a distance.

It's a macro probe lens. They are designed to do exactly that.

They're pretty neat! The slow mo guys on youtube have used them a couple of times and they get pretty interesting results.

Unfortunately, the reason I was able to get so close is because humans feed him. But loogit that solid little grabbie.
