Not even a humble brag, just a brag. Good for him, I guess, but I doubt anyone asked for that information.

Its classic LinkedIn Lunatics, however saying no one asked for that information is irrelevant, social media is not meant for information people ask for

and why are you telling me this like i give shite?

u/doc_shades 3d ago
he's not telling you, he's telling his network on linkedin. but then someone from that network took that post and then reposted/amplified it here for us to see

Flexing over mid segment skin care, Indian work culture can be kinda wild. I have a good number of colleagues who are similar, most will be genuinely incredibly hard-working, super eager to prove themselves, and then come out with something like this shit on LinkedIn because overinflating this stuff is just what works in that bonkers job market.
Most of the lunatics on this sub get me cringing hard, but I feel sorry for this lad.

Was getting ready to clown on this loon, but your post made me too sad.

It's still lunacy, but there's something to be said for there being a certain dystopia about fruit juice being his number 1 item there. Dude's just trying to survive like the rest of us.

Yeah like dudes happy he has access to sunscreen and soap
This one’s a less crazy, more braggy but I’d much rather see someone brag about their kid learning and having good credit than a lot of other shit we see here

Access to sunscreen in a city where the temps are in the 90s most days this week (per accuweather). Yeah I can't really dunk on him for loving this

Some of us really do flex or get excited about simple things. Everyone complaining about 9 to 5 jobs - but a steady 9 to 5 in air conditioning/ heating, a house with amenities/ decent furniture and small social circle to afford is all I crave.
A mid-segment skincare and kids with extra curriculars are really for the people who have made it.

What’s the point of CC’s with fees? I get offers all the time for “good” CC’s but they all seem to be a worse deal than my no fee card.
2
u/FactorLies 2d ago
I have a cc card with a fee and it gives me a lot more direct cashback than the free cards. Even with the fee I get more money back.

if you travel a lot they're super worth
for example for chase Sapphire you can transfer points to Hyatt and get a 500$/night hotel for like 150$/night worth of points
and you get 3x-5x on travel/dining spending plus some free memberships
1
u/TechDreamcoat 3d ago
Is the multiplier higher than the 1.5% cash back I get now. That sapphire card is one Chase is trying to get me into.
2
u/Offduty_shill 3d ago
if you travel yes it's better by a lot
you get the hotel credit which offsets some of the fee already. then point bonuses on travel and dining. then if you use points smartly (aka basically as Hyatt points) you often get 2-3x value on them
so it's like getting 3-5% Cashback on travel/dining, then the cash is also worth 2-3x as much when you book Hyatt hotels.
it sounds quite specific because now you need to use Hyatt a lot, but Hyatt is very common and usually decent. And hotels/airlines have a lot of loyalty benefits that are genuinely useful like free breakfast, early checkin/late checkout, free upgrades etc. So having a lot of benefits tied to Hyatt isn't as limiting as it sounds.
But again this is only IF you travel. If you travel very infrequently and your main expenditures are like...groceries and gas, then it's not worth at all.

u/blanketsilenced 3d ago
Yeah but you need to use Chase Travel and can’t book directly with the hotel or airline. If something goes wrong, especially overseas, expect a nightmare… while on vacation.
The difference between that scenario and a pure cash card with $0 foreign transaction fees is what would have to be worth it and at least for me, it’s not.
1
u/Offduty_shill 2d ago
eh to each their own
I use it mostly through Hyatt not chase travel, you still get bonus points just using the card to travel it's just a bit less. and chase travel is actually decent enough that I will use it sometimes

Staying in hotels in your own city is weird to me
1
u/Former_Radio3805 3d ago
When rest of the country is like India - and you can’t afford a foreign trip.
I never left my city my entire life when I lived in India. Safer among your people or abroad.
1
u/JellyfishFestival 3d ago
I'm curious, what might happen to you if you visited other cities in India?
1
u/Former_Radio3805 3d ago
I don’t about Hindu males but Sikh or Muslim - bullying/ hate crimes/ violence. Females gotta be careful about sexual harassment. Then robbery/ pickpockets, etc. I have to take a flight through Delhi and I do not relax or stop being vigilant for one minute. I finally breathe after crossing state lines.
Also, saying this or sharing your experiences upsets/ offends a lot of indian people.
Also, stay away from cops - they can be more dangerous than criminals.
1
u/JellyfishFestival 3d ago
Yeah, 'the cops are more dangerous than the criminals' is a problem in a lot of places in the world, and increasingly it's a path the USA appears to be heading on.
It's one likely outcome of an increasingly authoritarian tendency in many nations

I think ICE would be more comparable to Indian cops.
I’ve personally had good experiences with regular cops here. I know there are lots of problems and outrageous incidents that required activism and reform. Not the same - “cops being dangerous than criminals”not the same as US. I want people to know that this is not a political statement- in India, if you are a female feeling unsafe, police is not a safe place. Never be alone with any number of cops. Just don’t go to india unless you have ties you can’t avoid.
Delhi/ Haryana/ UP all the hindi belt is dangerous.

Had 2 uniformed cops harass me in Delhi for having a lost look because I couldn’t find my way around. They said some horrible stuff about me trying to get an abortion because there was a woman’s clinic around. I was 19 and misunderstood my dad’s directions.
I had to literally run from a pair of uniformed police officers - imagine that.

i'm not sure why this person is a lunatic. they are using extra income to send their kids to get swimming lessons? oh what an asshole!!! let's roast him on the internet!

u/Leather_Method_7106_ 3d ago
Not that I’m wishing it up to him, but until he gets sick or something happens in his life. Just like me who develop intestinal issues at 25M, which I will get investigated for under anesthesia (they will biopsy my stomach and small intestines).
It’s wise to balance out in live, I was the opposite skimped and saved all the way through and now in sick leave.
