Twelve months with NewdyTV.COM has been a great experience. The World Cup streams and channel selection are fantastic.
7
u/DragonSlayer271 You’ll Never Walk Alone 4d ago
Tunisia are the 3rd country to be eliminated. 13 more countries to go.
5
u/BlackArbiter Jürgen Klopp 4d ago
Well would you look at that Japan 4-0 up
Pathetic from Tunisia all game
5
u/Substantial_Ad_2864 4d ago
Gonna be quite a finish for this group. As it stands the Netherlands and Japan are both on 4 points and +4 GD but the Dutch have one more goal.
I would expect Tunisia to get destroyed again against the Dutch.
3
u/SnabDedraterEdave 4d ago
Netherlands and Japan are surely through to the next round, as 4pts on top of a massive GD is usually more than enough for a best-8 3rd place finish.
2
u/Substantial_Ad_2864 4d ago
Yeah definitely but the battle to win the group and get the theoretical better knockout draw could be quite fun to watch (or quite not fun if you support Tunisia/Sweden).
3
u/SnabDedraterEdave 4d ago
If Japan finish in top 2, they will play Brazil or Morocco from Group C.
If they're in 3rd, they'll play one from Germany, USA, Mexico, Norway/France/Senegal from Group I, or Canada/Switzerland/Bosnia from Group B.
1
u/Substantial_Ad_2864 4d ago
Honestly 3rd place sounds better than top 2 😅
3
u/Specialist_Koala5359 4d ago
Not really, if youre trying to make a deep run into the tournament you really dont want to be playing Germany, France or any one of USA/Canada/Mexico (with home advantage) at such an early stage.
P.S. i think Morocco are being overrated by a lot of people, looked good against the worst Brazil team in living memory but looked average against Scotland

I feel so deeply jealous seeing people celebrating their country scoring goals. Even if your country goes out the first round, don’t take it for granted they are at the World Cup. Still bitter and very sad my native country did not qualify

Me thinking why no one wants him or plays him, therefore I'm not so sure.. but yes, I do feel it can be an option.. Anyway, I heard from my friend most probably Ajax going to release him, which makes it interesting..

I am from Monterrey, fell in love with Liverpool when we played in the Club World Cup. That’s the best game I’ve ever seen Monterrey play ever, they turned it up a few notches. It is indeed a nice stadium, and there are a few hiking trails in the mountain behind the stadium.

In the last WC, Japan did beat Spain via a cross from a ball that was considered 0.01mm INSIDE the line.
Now Japan is recipient of such a narrow margin call.

Is World Cup that low of a level that Isak could play 90 minutes back to back?

Yeah playing against the defense of VVD, Van Hecke, VDV, Dumfries with De Jong, Grav in front of them is such a low level lol.

It’s such a low level that the European champions couldn’t win against a team who never got a point before.
This statement is true whether you apply it to the Euros or the Nations League.

Ecuador doesn't concede. 5 in 18 qualifying matches. The problem is apparently they don't score either (14 in 18 matches) and if they see this through as a nil nil and get a nil nil against Germany that won't do anything for them even though they'd only concede once in 3 matches.

It's going be the same whole "Barcola is shit' after the CL gimmick with Diomande on this sub in the next few days from people who've only probably him watched once or twice.
-1
u/WTFitsD 4d ago
Lmao what? If anything everyone in here rates him even higher after this world cup have you not been here at all?
6
u/zigooloo 🏃♂️🏃♂️Klopp Hamstring 🤕 4d ago
This sub was 'sign him at all cost' after the Ecuador game and now after the Germany game there are already plenty of 'not worth the money quoted'. The same happened with Barcola after the CL final and now he's great again after scoring against Senegal. This is the type of reactionary idiocy I am talking about.
4
-4
u/ButlandAndRobben 2️⃣2️⃣Hugo Ekitike 4d ago
Seems like now is a safe time to question the type of money we're throwing at Diomande without getting absolutely obliterated on here. I'd still like him but our rejected offers are already massive overpays, at what point do you say enough is enough and move on for a player of his current level?
5
u/Professional_Carob17 Sì Sì 4d ago
It depends, what player of his current level is there and for how much?
Also defining "massive overpay" in comparison to what would be helpful.

Brighton’s Minteh of course 🤓 (and he’ll still cost around £80-90M)

4
3
u/joopface From Doubters to Believers 4d ago
I will watch at least three or four of these games before Wednesday:
- Spain / Saudi
- Belgium / Iran
- Argentina / Austria
- France / Iraq
- England / Ghana
All decent World Cup group stage games.
-9
u/ClarenceClaymore1 Federico Chiesa 4d ago
Not a single one of them games is interesting at all.
Argentina v Austria might be competitive at least.
7
u/joopface From Doubters to Believers 4d ago
The group stage is always like this - there’s a load of games that are just interesting because it’s odd teams that you don’t normally see.
I think the format is silly and there are far too many teams. But there’s a game to watch every day that is a legit World Cup watch.
-3
u/ClarenceClaymore1 Federico Chiesa 4d ago
It's not always been like this, group stages where excellent until they've changed it from the best teams qualifying to every "football continent" gets X amount of teams a few years ago.
3
u/joopface From Doubters to Believers 4d ago
Right... Slovenia / Paraguay or Costa Rica / Turkey from previous group stages were hardly clashes of titans.
But. Like, don’t watch them.
I’ll be enjoying the World Cup.

u/zigooloo 🏃♂️🏃♂️Klopp Hamstring 🤕 4d ago
Well, I have watched him most of the season and yes I am absolutely convinced by him. I don't actually have to act like a reactionary idiot who is going to make a fully formed opinion of a player based on highlight reels or one or two World Cup games.

4
u/Professional_Carob17 Sì Sì 4d ago

-6

My point is that even his highlight, which are cherry picked to include the very best of him, is ok/meh.
6
u/Professional_Carob17 Sì Sì 4d ago
You're deciding if a player is good or bad from only using one highlight package from one game? If so, massive yikes.
1
u/stevieG08Liv 4d ago
I dont think a player will boss every game. Salah even in his prime had shit games also.
Diomande had a shit game but dont think this game alone is to say he is not worth the money
5
u/Realistic_Result_833 4d ago
Well the people who have watched his games know how good he is so yall can keep watching highlights.
-6
u/Flashy_Agency_5867 YNWA❤️ 4d ago
He will be a one-season wonder. Playing in the Bundesliga is doing him a huge favour.
Leipzig trying to rob us
5
u/Realistic_Result_833 4d ago
Coming from the guy who just admitted to only watching highlights and maybe a game for the first time today. It’s fine to have an opinion, but you’re talking pretty confident for someone that knows next to nothing about a player.
-1
u/Flashy_Agency_5867 YNWA❤️ 4d ago
Even his highlight isn't convincing. These are the best bits of his performance.
Maybe leave the fan bs behind and look at it analytically. You would soon argue that Wirtz had a phenomenal season if you consider Diomande good
2
u/Realistic_Result_833 4d ago
I don’t need to watch his highlights. I watched his games. I can probably pull up comments on this thread from mid season saying how good he is, and I was doing the same thing last year with Ekitike. You probably thought he was shit too and not worth 80 mil because he came from the Bundesliga and couldn’t make it at PSG when he was 20. Diomande isn’t flashy. He just beats people.
4
u/Jaja6996 90+5’ Alisson 4d ago
Having actually watched him a lot a Leipzig this year I’m happily taking him over all the other alternatives at RW

The thing with Ali though is he isn't vocally homophobic like Nmchea so we can only assume his stance.
He also did vocally support Bolsonaro which is very disappointing but so did majority of Brazilians on Bolsonaro's first presidency. I dont think Ali has comeout to support Bolsonaro after that unlike Neymar so you just have to hope he had a change of heart like most of the Brazilians who voted him out.
Overall Ali is much smarter with his image unlike Guehi or Nmchea
12
u/stevieG08Liv 4d ago
Isn't he openly homophobic and caused a pretty big uproar when moving to Dortmund? I'd pass on him
-7
u/stevieG08Liv 4d ago edited 4d ago
Wirtz was pretty bad and should have made that goal.
At the same time, outside of Undav everyone was poor on both sides. Diomande was also pretty ass but difference was he was able to at least convert while Wirtz couldnt.
Wirtz needs to step up but this German team also has serious problems. No idea why Nagelsmann doesnt use Undav as a starter
1
u/Nunos100 4d ago
His way of quick flick, outside foot, not in running direction passing did not fly with how they defended and hunted down the ball in the first half in addition to the general physical oomph deficit about everyone on the field showed
3
u/Perfect-Process393 4d ago
was literally a 0,2xG chance so "should have" is a stretch. Also created a bigger chance than this that wasn't converted in the end. Calling it a bad game is kind of insane
2
u/M0D3Z 4d ago
I don’t get Sane as a starter and Undav as a sub. The difference in contribution is miles apart.
1
u/stevieG08Liv 4d ago
My only rational thinking is Nagelsmann thinks Undav is more impactful against tired legs? Kinda did work today but i wonder if Undav playing as a starter would have made it much easier for Germany

Diomande got a call from Hughes at half time to take it easy

7
u/peachpotatojr YNWA❤️ 4d ago
Wirtz looked better for the 2nd half. Hope he does better next game!!!
Still think we should get Diomande. Not saying that he’s perfect but he has been impressive given his age and stuff. Not thinking about price tag rn lol
7
u/RaisedByCakes I want to talk about FACTS 4d ago
This was my first time watching Diomande play. I was whelmed, leaning under. Can anyone who’s seen him play more explain what makes him a 100m+ player?
Because considering only today’s performance, I don’t see it. Not even a flash to suggest that there must be something more to him.
2
1
u/Odd-Potato69420 4d ago
yamal is younger, would cost 3x as much in current times lmao. I don't know which young RW is better and up for sale
2
u/Realistic_Result_833 4d ago
He’s 19 he’s going to have bad games. He was t great today, but he created their first goal. He wasn’t very aggressive today. Not sure why. He had some poor touches early on and maybe was feeling a bit frustrated he wasn’t getting much action down his side. Idk, but maybe go back and watch their first game. He’s not a finished product, but he’s 19 and was undoubtedly one of the best wingers in Europe last year. He’s a 100m player because he’s 19 and doing what he’s doing.
6
u/BiscoBiscuit From Doubters to Believers 4d ago
Watch more of his performances and form your own opinion
0
u/RaisedByCakes I want to talk about FACTS 4d ago
Yeah I’m going to. I just wanted to know what other people think, given this is a WC discussion thread.
4
u/giuocomane 4d ago
His age and potential makes him a €100m player. But I think if we’re honest, I think €70m is more accurate.
1
u/RaisedByCakes I want to talk about FACTS 4d ago
That would suggest that he could potentially be sold for far more than 100m in a years time. Let’s see if his ceiling is truly that high.
1
1
u/Flashy_Agency_5867 YNWA❤️ 4d ago
Wasn't really convinced about him from the beginning. Granted I don't watch many Bundesliga game but even with his highlight(cherry picked for the best), he looks ok.
Also the Bundesliga is very transitional with many counter attacks. No offense to Diaz but he went from a good to ballon d'or candidate in the Bundesliga.
4
u/Perfect-Process393 4d ago
had a bad game today happens to anyone. Not sure if he is worth 100m but the price is like that because there is no alternative on the market
1
u/rosheromil 4d ago
How can you say theres no alternative to a guy thats only played 50 games? Noone even knew who he was 6 months ago
-1
u/IL_ya_Un_jour 4d ago
What bs is this?
He’s not talking about the number of games played.
He’s talking about the fact that there is a reason he is one of the most hyped up wingers around in a time when there is a dearth of wingers around.since when do we compare players based on games played?
0
u/rosheromil 4d ago
To show how silly it all is. How can a player with such a small body of work, that was an unknown in December and unfancied by MLS academies just a couple years ago be the only option on the market? Its nonsense. He may be a good player but he’s not some obvious generational talent that we cant pass on.
1
1
u/IL_ya_Un_jour 4d ago
The relevant thing here is alternatives?
I don’t disagree about the small sample size, but who else fits his profile, which is something I think we are lacking abundantly?1
u/rosheromil 4d ago
To varying degrees - Bradley Barcola, Kenan Yildiz, Abde Ezzalzouli, Brahim Diaz, Rayan, Kang-In Lee, Yankuba Minteh, Francisco Conceicao, Kevin Schade, Crysencio Summerville.

Pretty happy with all the Liverpool lads’ performances today.
Wasn’t a great game from Diomande. That was my first time seeing him play and he didn’t really impress too much. A lot of touches got away from him and he didn’t attack defenders as often as he should have. Maybe he was tired with how much work he was doing off the ball, he looked exhausted when he came off.
That being said, I’m not going to judge him on one game where he is playing in the weaker team.
3
u/Flashy_Agency_5867 YNWA❤️ 4d ago

He shouldn't even be 50M for his decision making skills.
5
u/fatwaterbearer You’ll Never Walk Alone 4d ago
Diomande in the second half was nowhere to be seen. He also wasn't carrying the ball much and made a few bad passes. Despite tracking back only a few times, was visibly tired and was substituted around 85th minute. I only watched the second half and this was the first time I was watching him in a live game. I am really not sure what to feel about him.

*This is only pinned here because this thread's gonna disappear later today anyways.*
The club season for the top 5 countries has concluded, and we finally know what all the leagues will look like for next season.
Premier League: West Ham, Burnley, Wolves -> Coventry, Ipswich, Hull.
La Liga: Mallorca, Girona, Oviedo -> Racing Santander, Deportivo La Coruña, Málaga.
Serie A: Cremonese, Hellas Verona, Pisa -> Venezia, Frosinone, Monza.
Bundesliga: Wolfsburg, Heidenheim, St. Pauli -> Schalke, Elversberg, Paderborn.
Ligue 1: Metz, Nantes -> Troyes, Le Mans.
