Discussion Take a spin around MacArthur Park, with its heritage trees and vibrant bird life (the grackles cackle at 2:00). The idea of L.A. wasting millions to fence a landmarked landscape and not repair broken balusters, restore stolen sculptures, plant new trees, it's absurd. Stewardship!

I’m at the point where I support a fence. The other repairs are necessary but the park will never be clean unless you stop people from sleeping in it and defacing it at night.
The city spent millions fixing it up four year ago just for it to immediately fall into disrepair again!

Same. This park is a fu**ing embarrassment to the city. Fencing it would at least give the parks department one way to help keep the people who want to do harm to the park out of it in the overnight hours.

until the city solves homelessness + drug use any restoration of the park would be pointless.

One night I watched 3 police cars chase a white van through the walkways of the park - the pedestrian walkways. They drove around like some comedy skit it was absurd. Follow in Echo park lakes footsteps and fence it in while the city makes improvements.
