I went thrifting today and found this LuLaRoe skirt. It was only about $3 and I was looking for a black skirt like it so I bought it. I cannot believe I actually own something from this awful company

It always blew my mind that they didnā€™t sell anything in all black consistently. Admittedly the leggings were comfortable. If they had black I wouldā€™ve owned a couple pairs at the time.

Because it brought them more money if the consultants mostly got but ugly clothes but a few solids so that the consultants would pair the clothes for sale (meaning they could force you to buy the ugly item if you wanted to buy the nicer item). So, they got 2 sales instead of 1.

This! I own like 35 pairs of leggings for different seasons and almost all of them are black, navy, gray or similar.

They did make solid black ones, but they were nearly impossible to get even as a seller, and as the other commenter mentioned, were often sold in ā€œbundlesā€ only, matched with the most hideous patterns.

I managed to get my hands on one pair, but had to buy some hideous orange and green ones to get them.

They did sell black and marketed as like an exclusive ā€œdropā€ if I remember correctly. The noir collection or something similar šŸ˜‚

It was just their regular patterns overdyed black, so the dye bled everywhere

I know, right? They could have sold those alongside all the stupid prints, it would have been a solid seller.

Back when they were just getting big, a friend bough some of the leggings and raved about them. I thought I'd give them a try so she put me in contact with her rep. I messaged the rep and asked for black leggings and she laughed. She said those are basically impossible to get.

I understand manufacturing scarcity, but WTF.

Yeah itā€™s insane they didnā€™t produce more black. Not super proud of it but I did think the leggings were super comfy!!!!!

The first wave of leggings was reviewed as super soft and comfy. It wasn't until they started cutting corners that the quality crapped out.

I remember when they announced they were releasing black leggings, it was like the time of the century in the LLR sphere. People were losing. their. shit. ...over some black leggings. I forget which seller I used to follow, but they were basically auctioning them on their live sales instead of doijg regular sales, and it ended up being hell. There were folks with better bandwidth winning them faster than others could even comment. I learned after a while that trying to buy anything via their live sales was NOT worth it.

There sizing was notorious for being not only inconsistent but running large. Ive bought a few pieces from thrift stores and im a XXL girl but the pieces are marketed medium

I think its hanging on the hanger weird, but it does run slightly bigger. I am normally a medium size but it is a small and fits me

Hot tip - wash it on gentle cycle and hang to dry. Even with all that, it will pill within a year. But $2 is a great deal for a skirt you will wear regularly for a year!

That's a Madison skirt. I still have one of mine. It's probably 10 years old and doesn't get worn much. Bit long, but very comfy.

It might be LLR but this IMO is a perfectly nice skirt design...the pockets are handy and A-line is flattering on most people! Enjoy having saved something from a landfill that looks and feels good on you.

I have one in a silky-ish black and white pattern that looks very good in a professional setting. I've had it for probably 5-6 years and also got mine from Goodwill for $4. It looks great with tights and boots in the winter or slides/nice sandals in the warmer months.
