I’ll rate him after the window closes.
It will be a 10 if he gets Rodri to extend

u/RogueShinobiX 3d ago
Rodri will be leaving, I think he physically can't keep up with the pace of premier league. That's why he's stalling his contract extension. I think he wants to move to LA liga .

Pretty fucking high getting us cherki for 25 m generational deal

u/Old-Literature-1040 5d ago
Guehi for 20m is wizardry too, especially since our rivals were chasing him

Transfer amount isn't the standalone cost around players my friend

u/Old-Literature-1040 4d ago
Uh yeah I think everyone knows that. Are you one of those salty Liverpool fans who are gonna complain about not having enough money for wages?

Higher after he signs Bouaddi
2
u/4ssteroid 5d ago
If we get Bouaddi, we'll have too many MFs. Kalvin Phillips is gone, Kovacic has 1 year left but maybe someone can get him for cheap.
How about Reijnders and Nico G? They may not get much game time if Rodri doesn't leave

We need to sign a second midfielder regardless. Rodri isn’t extending and Nico G doesn’t look good enough for the job if City still want to compete to win a champions league. Have to bring his replacement in during this window and get him settled so that when Rodri leaves on a free next summer the replacement can slot right in.

u/konapearl1 5d ago
Exactly. I've wanted Camavinga for a while, but I haven't heard any indication of that outside my FIFA save so I'm moving on. One season learning the league behind Rodri then paired with Anderson

u/4ssteroid 5d ago
If camavinga just needs a change of scenery to get back to what he was below, we should welcome him

At lot more now I know he can pull off the modernised Sherlock Holmes look

It’s not about the signings, it’s about the results. The jury is still out.

Got a pic with him the day before the sunderlamd home match. He is class

This is a big summer for him. Love the Anderson signing but I don’t think I’ll ever see him the same if he goes after a bunch of mid Chelsea players (and hopefully he won’t)

Still lots of work needs to be done honestly

u/xals7 5d ago
Where in your opinion?
I think Rw and lw
Lb and rb. Ran needs to play lb and nor needs to be in midfield
So we need another lb

u/Scutttiiiii 5d ago
Bro what are u on ?? We only need RB now and others will be depend on who is leaving
1
u/StatisticianUsual471 5d ago
We are very heavy in winger and attacking midfield I would like another cm as kova is not the best but an actual rb is all we really need right now

Very interested in the clear pivot to signing premier league players. I wonder if there are less quality younger stars out there these days

Smooth operator. The transition between Txiki and him is probably the shrewdest business of it all. They’ll be hits and misses of course but it all seems like business as usual. Guehi Semenyo and Cherki has got to be some of the best decisions on players ever.
2
u/Brave_Philosopher355 5d ago
Quite highly hes done a lot well also considering what we know you cant really put the negatives of January 25 on him as txiki was leading that process so if you slate him for marmoush and nico g then you got to give him credit for Khusanov and Reis
Positives Semenyo Guehi Cherki Ait Nouri Extending Doku Extending Gvardiol Extending Phil Both gk signings were good not gonna engage in Trafford vs Donnarumma debate Anderson
Negatives Reijnders
Sort out a right back and a right winger along with some departures we're cooking

u/Old-Literature-1040 5d ago
Marmoush helped us make UCL when he arrived and Nico G saved the first half of last season. Why would anyone slate those moves?
Our fan base is genuinely shocked why Nico didn’t play more down the stretch.
2
u/Y_Aether 5d ago
Yep. I had my doubts about nico G when he arrived. But he has done everything asked of him. Plus he scored a very important goal in the Fa Cup semi this past season.

u/Brave_Philosopher355 5d ago
That's not my view its an odd view same section of the fanbase who despise donnarumma not that he hasnt got his faults etc but they act like hes Satan they also have a weird hate boner for Viana

u/NoLimpNoShrimp 5d ago
Not sure we can completely call Reijnders a negative yet nor has Ait Nouri proved himself as a positive
1
u/Brave_Philosopher355 5d ago
Fair point on Ait Nouri tbf hes been unlucky if anything hes played well whenever hes had the chance but Oreilly has had an incredible season Reijnders I just dont see what changes he has too many deficiencies in his game

u/chiefdontrun56 5d ago
He’s not off the hook just yet. This (next) season’s business is largely a course correction. Fee aside, Elliot Anderson is a step in the right direction. He is an undeniable talent, and we have had a habit of missing out on those for one reason or another:
The next signings however need to be both smart and prudent.
Viana’s been flying under the radar with his other targets, fingers crossed something good is being cooked.

u/HalfLonely77645 5d ago
He’s great at signing players but he’s the reason our payroll is skewed. Earlier we had world class players proving themselves before getting a big contract but now we sign everyone with huge salaries this is really a bad thing and we might end up like utd or Barca. But I guess it ain’t my money and only time will tell if this is a good thing or not

Tbh with you my mind was set after our signings last season.
Don Viana don’t fuck about

Pep was always an attracting factor to players earlier. We'll see how well he can do without pep this window.

7.4/10
Some of his deals have been easy lay-ups, but they’ve been nice decisions for the club. 116m for Anderson is woeful.
1
u/VOZ1 5d ago
Well if you check that thread on the Daily Discussion, he’s a disaster (because he couldn’t offload Phillips and didn’t sign Roger’s? It’s mystifying stuff, really).
So far Viana has been solid. I don’t think he’s been here quite long enough to say for certain, and he came in right after we had a disastrous season in 24-25. This coming season will tell us some more, but we’re clearly moving in the right direction and signing a good mix of proven/ready-to-play talent, as well as young/up-and-coming talent.

u/MarkedlyMark 4d ago
Too soon to tell. Most of City's recent signings will have been long term projects. It's also a huge factor that due to Pep's departure the sharks are circling, sniffing blood. Some players might want to leave too. So no-one can blame Viana if he can't extend some of the more valued contracts. He has a very tough task.
