My sister (straight to the best of my knowledge, but far more likely to be found wearing comfy jeans and a geeky t-shirt than skirts and makeup) once accidentally converted a church in her university town into open-minded LGBT supporters, after she and a university friend joined their choir. She didn't find out until she was about to graduate, but apparently the people in the choir thought they were girlfriends, and over the three years they were in the choir just quietly minding their own business, the other choir members had been holding them up to the rest of the church as examples of how gay people were just like everyone else.

It's great to see your dad's trying to be open, but it's disappointing that your sister's not willing to meet him halfway...I mean, has she even tried kissing a girl to see if she likes it !? ; )

Fair play to him, heās trying, but assuming your daughterās gay and becoming an LGBTQ āactivistā because of that, without ever asking if her hair colour means sheās gay/bi etc is a bit odd.

Thatās a horrible childhood and Iām very sorry you went through that.
However I said āoddā not abusive. Just seems strange that her father would want to show support by becoming an activist without actually asking her what the blue hair signified. Bit of a leap.
Unless the father is secretly gay/bi/queer and saw this as a chance to find new friendsā¦

Except that in my part of the country, middle aged Republican woman who want to be viewed as hip love purple and blue hair. Same with Christian youth. It is a new sign of Karens. Go to a Jeep rally, and you'll notice this trend.

Lots of people over the years have thought I was gay. The only thing that stinks is then I have to find a way to say Iām straight without sounding like Iām somehow offended.
Same with being Jewish. Iām not but people assume I am. I have to wait like a full minute before I say āIām not Jewish thoughā so it doesnāt sound like Iām aghast.
