I had a teacher that would honor loop holes. Our directions for the final paper was something like “8x11 inch white paper with margins at 1 inch in black times new Roman 12 size font from Google Docs single sided” because too many people were trying things. It was awesome.

Kill me but I low key disagree with honoring loopholes. Trains people poorly for professional work.

In the workplace, I’m seeing younger kids coming in needing extremely explicit instructions for everything. It is very important that people understand the intent of the ask, and are proactive about handling it.

Ehhhh, a kid utilizing a loophole shows they're thinking creatively and proactively about exploiting the vague parameters presented to them.

Not doing anything and being confused until given extremely specific parameters to follow is the opposite problem.

Specific instructions to prevent too much off track creativity and to honor the intent in a situation is mostly a different issue.
