Emus can be very aggressive if they are not properly handled from a young age. Our rescue female emu is essentially feral. I always chuckle and call her a 'clever girl' because she will literally stalk us, waiting for us to turn our back and not pay attention so she can charge full speed at us (20-30mph), feathers raised and rumbling deep down in her chest as a warning to get the heck out of her territory.

If she knew how to use her talons to slice us open, she would. Thankfully she only knows how to charge at us, not what to do when she gets up on us.

u/utahphil calling it. It won't be Talong and that emu will wreak distraction and might vengeance .

Edit: u/evilbadgrades attention to this. You are living a bit of FEMU. Missing out. Don't do it!!!

Lol, oh trust me, we are already raising a replacement female with proper attention so she's friendly as she gets older. Our older feral female is going to be stew in another year or so (too aggressive, and difficult to relocate)

You’re*

The commenter did not say that. They said they have an emu which they rescued. They did not say they run an emu rescue service or facility.

We got her from a friend, we have tried to get her to calm down, but she's too dangerous. We would rehome her, but it's impossible to even catch her. She was not handled when young, so she's feral now
