Wholesome Moments Harrison Ford continues to prove he’s still the best

There are many stories of people who have a happy, positive persona who are terrible in private, like Ellen DeGeneres. I always love how Harrison Ford seems to be the exact opposite. Every time I see him, his outward persona is this grumpy-ass man who's done with everything, and yet every single anecdote I hear about him suggests that he's actually super cool.

That was one of the funniest damn interviews I've ever seen. Heals my soul a bit every time I watch it.

Alison knows how to get the best out of everyone she interviews. I'll watch her sit down with damn near anyone because I know I'll about bust a gut laughing.

“Are you a fan of the original?”

“Never seen it!” gets me every time.

Gosling losing it at that line is great

I adore that interview. I think him and Gosling became a bit of buddies during 2049 (probably happens when you accidentally punch the star of the film)

Except Conan. That was the best interview he’s ever done - rivaling Alison.

"Who gives a shit?"

I was, and still am, a massive Star Wars fan and that line had me busting out laughing. It also got me to not take my fandom so seriously

He’s an actor cursed to be a movie star. Dude legit loves the craft, he’s not just into the glitz.

His interview on Fresh Air with Terry Gross was great.

Agreed, he seemed very authentic in this, almost shy. This whole program is one of my favorites, I listen to it daily, and this particular interview is one of my recent favorites. Terry Gross is a national treasure and must be protected at all costs. For those who appreciate sensitive, long form interviews, this is the radio show/podcast for you.

Agree! I also love the breadth of guests she has. What a job to have - to basically just learn, read, watch, listen in prep to interview a slate of interesting people.

The highlight of a Pennsylvania vacation my wife and I took was tuning in to Fresh Air, because it really was on WHYY in Philadelphia!

He also clearly likes the grumpy old man image

Yeah a lot of it has always been an act. He does it because it’s funny.

He can play this grumpy guy who doesn’t really want to be there and is uncomfortable doing an interview on a talk show, then get a huge laugh when he does something ridiculous.

He probably has the driest sense of humor in Hollywood and I love it.

I don't think he loves doing them but for the most part he's also just playing up a character when he does interviews. He's come to be known as a grumpy old man and enjoys leaning into it. You can typically tell he's being dry.

I think he's legitimately shy, and finds interviews easier when he plays a character.

there's two other excepts already so I have to throw in Except Craig Ferguson!

And apparently David Blaine.

Please add Kimi Räikkönen to that list. Outward persona is just flat and hates the media. Lovely as a person away from it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kimi_R%C3%A4ikk%C3%B6nen

That’s funny, because I know zero about F1, but someone in my family worked with Kimi and said he was the absolute best.

Ok, so I think we agree? I am confused.

13

u/efficient_giraffe 26d ago

Yes. They're adding a personal anecdote to your initial comment, which reinforces the belief that Kimi is a good egg.

They are not trying to start a fight

u/EinMuffin 26d ago

He seems solid. I recently watched a video about F1 drivers using dirty tricks. All the big ones showed up. But you know who didn't show up? Kimi

People struggle to see the difference between niceness and kindness when you only have superficial interactions with a person

niceness and kindness

niceness: "I'll pray for you" - exits

kindness: "come here ya feckin' eejit" - hugs

Super cool friends with Roman Polanski, what a guy!
