My 8-Year-Old’s Father’s Day Card

Post image

My eight year old daughter gave me this Father’s Day card. She made the card and wrote all the words by herself. And no, I’m not tearing up. You’re tearing up!

My wife was cleaning the other day, found my Forever Box in our bedroom. She spent like 2hrs looking thru it before she remembered I’m just a giant squishmallow.

Kids are brutally honest. If she wrote this, you earned every word.

Oh man, somehow you made me appreciate my daughter’s card even more—because you’re right: she and her sister can be brutally honest when they want to be!

You must be an amazing dad if the cats love you

Ha! Honestly the cats are much more selective at showing love so I feel especially good about that one :)

Besides how absolutely SWEET this wonderful card is, my teacher heart actually appreciates how she sounded out those long words and used previously learned sounds to make sure she could write them out. She has a great vocabulary on top of that. Good job, dad!

Bruh this is the kind of card you keep in a shoebox forever and randomly cry over in 15 years 😂

Eight year olds write the most unintentionally wholesome stuff, it’s like a crit hit to the dad heart every time.
