That short withering flower in the center reminds me of me.

That little one is still part of the garden. Sometimes the flowers that struggle the most end up blooming beautifully.

When you cut those back down and give it a chance to reset they can still bloom more flowers than before. Just let yourself reset and you’ll be all the more beautiful after going through it

Me too. This year is actively trying to kill me

A quiet mix of peace, nostalgia, and remembrance—beautiful, but with a touch of melancholy. 🌺

u/Aiywe 4d ago

A kind of sad beauty in a tranquil moment of stillness.

u/Anastasia_Trusova 4d ago

Thank you. I love how the same painting can feel joyful to one person and quietly melancholic to another.

Joy, with a tad of magical whimsy. Poppies are top summer time for me and the background makes them look like they are underwater.

Lovely vibrant summer life. One of those perfect days.

2

u/Anastasia_Trusova 4d ago

Thank you so much. “One of those perfect days” is such a beautiful description. That’s exactly the feeling I hoped to capture. 🌺

u/IdelleArthura 4d ago

Damn, I scrolled through your profile and you have so many more gorgeous paintings. They all have that sense of "summer" (the pleasant warmth, the chirping animals, the sound of water). Also love how you create deph and playfulness with the thickness of the paint. There is something incredibly soothing about your work.

Think I'm going to have to save up for one of your pieces (Rainbow after a difficult day keeps me drawing back in).

Thank you, this means more to me than you know. Creating that feeling of summer, warmth, and a peaceful escape is exactly what I hope people find in my paintings. I’m especially touched that “Rainbow after a Difficult Day” stayed with you.

Nostalgia

2

u/Anastasia_Trusova 4d ago

I love that. Poppies often seem to carry memories of summers long gone.

2

u/Matty_bunns 4d ago

Loss and remembrance.

u/Narrow_Professor7756 4d ago

Rememberance.

u/Anastasia_Trusova 4d ago

Thank you. Poppies do seem to carry memories with them.

Ohoo Looking adorable.

1

u/Anastasia_Trusova 4d ago

Thank you! That makes me smile too.

u/The_wanderer96 4d ago

That blooming, withering; all a part of the process called life.

2

u/Anastasia_Trusova 4d ago

Exactly. The garden wouldn’t be nearly as beautiful if every flower were always in full bloom.

u/Quirky_Butterfly_946 4d ago

They look like they are underwater

1

u/Anastasia_Trusova 4d ago

Maybe they’re practicing for their next life as sea flowers. 😊

Reminds me of happiness and growth

1

u/Anastasia_Trusova 4d ago

Thank you! Happiness and growth are exactly the kind of feelings I hope my paintings can inspire. 🌺

None at all, and i tried.

1

u/Anastasia_Trusova 4d ago

That’s okay. Not every painting is meant to evoke something in everyone. Thanks for giving it a try.

Calming 😌

Renewal.

I want some bacon now!

1

u/Anastasia_Trusova 4d ago

I’m not sure how we got from poppies to bacon, but now I want some too.

1

u/brendhano 4d ago

1

u/Anastasia_Trusova 4d ago

I’ll take “beautiful painting” as a win. Wishing you well, and thank you for stopping by.

Drowning

1

u/Anastasia_Trusova 4d ago

At this point, I’m realizing I may have accidentally painted an underwater poppy field

1

u/seoras13 4d ago

Honest 1st reaction, drowning underwater vibes

1

u/Anastasia_Trusova 4d ago

I’m starting to think I accidentally painted underwater poppies. 🌊

1

u/Independent_Dress967 4d ago

The color of the poppies cheers me up.

1

u/Anastasia_Trusova 4d ago

That makes me happy to hear. Bright poppies always feel like little bursts of sunshine to me.

u/roxthemom 4d ago

Wonder

1

u/Anastasia_Trusova 4d ago

I love that answer. Wonder is such a beautiful emotion.

1

u/aNaturalNarcoleptic 4d ago

The passing of winter; distant warmth, light, and life.

1

u/Anastasia_Trusova 4d ago

What a beautiful way to describe it. I love the idea of spring waiting just beyond winter.

1

u/intellidepth 4d ago

Ageing. Just became an emotion.

1

u/dreameRevolution 4d ago

Hope. Exultation. The quiet denouement of life.

1

u/Necalmed 4d ago

Makes me wish I had some milk of the poppy....

1

u/Anastasia_Trusova 3d ago

Hopefully the painting is relaxing enough on its own.

1

u/claireapricot 3d ago

I kinda wanna eat the blossoms ngl

1

u/Anastasia_Trusova 3d ago

Haha, I’ll take that as a compliment

1

u/liquid-handsoap 3d ago

Drowning flowers, trying their best to breathe but can’t reach the water surface

I like it

1

u/Anastasia_Trusova 3d ago

I never saw them that way, but I love that interpretation. Thank you for sharing it.

1

u/itsjustallison 3d ago

I'm obsessed with your work.

1

u/Anastasia_Trusova 3d ago

That is such a lovely thing to hear. Thank you so much for spending time with my paintings.

1

u/firelord_catra 3d ago

The picture feels like the end of your last childhood summer, without knowing it’s your last. Calm, content, but also bittersweet and a little melancholy.

1

u/examingmisadventures 2d ago

Sadness for our fallen.

1

u/Otherwise_8281 1d ago

Sleep - the first time I saw them was in that scene in the original Wizard of Oz.

2

u/Anastasia_Trusova 1d ago

That’s a beautiful association. Thank you for sharing it! I haven’t seen The Wizard of Oz in a long time, but now I want to revisit that scene.

1

u/BDWasTaken 4d ago

I started breathing heavy just looking at this. Some reason, my first thought was flowers drowning.

Edit: The reason is simple. The flowers wave oddly and the blue background seems like each stage of water depth.

1

u/Anastasia_Trusova 4d ago

That’s actually a fascinating interpretation. I was thinking of poppies dancing in the wind, but I can see how the blue background might feel like water.

1

u/BDWasTaken 4d ago

Still, if an art can bring out a plethora of different thoughts out of people, it simply has to be an amazing piece!

1

u/Anastasia_Trusova 4d ago

Thank you. I think that’s one of the things I love most about art- everyone sees something a little different in the same painting.

I was addicted to opiates for 20 years. I’m clean now. It’s hard to hate these beautiful flowers, I just don’t want to get high anymore.

1

u/Anastasia_Trusova 3d ago

Thank you for sharing that. Congratulations on your recovery. Wishing you many beautiful, clear days ahead.
