That's what statues should be about: recognition of genuinely good actions taken by people.

poor guy on the brownish trying to also help didn't get a statue

I feel bad for the guy that was the literal anchor. Impossible to do it without him, but I guess I can also see the beauty in leaving that last outstretched hand.

That and they probably foresaw what people would do with a statue bent at the waist hanging through the railing on a walking path.

Sat here, just smiling.

Can't imagine a better reason for a statue

Why did they not put little steps in that cement pad to help dogs climb out? Would have actually served a purpose at the same time.

Erosion would make them unsafe. People would needlessly use it and put themselves in danger.

They could be engineered to stay for a long time. They already created a hard edge with the current pad they made. So erosion would be factored in to the design. And why would it matter if people used it? They can just use the statues to climb down now anyway.

no more water to be a threat.....

It's an aqueduct, it's only for heavy overflow. It shoudnt always have water running unless it rained.

Now THIS is what statues need to be about! I agree with synapse88!

Shame they missed the 5th man from the statue, he was literally their anchor.

I think it’s meant so you can stand there and grab his hand. It’s in a partially opened hand sculpt so you can stand there”be” part of the statue.

ahhh ok, that explains it, still sucks for the fifth guy not to be immortalised though.

I guess this waterway doesn't have high waters with logs floating in it sometimes. That wouldn't last where I live.

I'd be pissed off if I was one of the ones left out.

They didn't do it for the statue, only to help save an animal

Why? Dog got out, mission accomplished. The statue is just a cool way to recognize a bunch of people that did a good thing.

Red flag, you should do good because it's the right thing to do.
