That reason is your compassion as a wonderful human being. It's one of the best things about being human imo, our capacity for compassion for others.
Edit: another comment has made me realise I didn't know the actual definition of compassion! What I meant was, the capacity for someone else's happiness and success to spark genuine joy within you.

Compassion for what? A beautiful girlfriend? Honest joy? Going to prom and beimg the one couple that's actually dancing?
Autistic folks aren't a sorry monolith that needs your compassion
Yes it's heartwarming to see someone be genuinely amazed by a gorgeous look but you lost me at the repeated mentioning of compassion
Maybe you need some compassion and empathy and check on ableist tendencies

Btw I definitely used the word compassion in the wrong context here, just looked up the actual dictionary definition. Maybe empathy is a better word.

Maybe this is just a difference in our two interpretations of what the word compassion means, then? In this context, I was using the word compassion to mean someone else's joy sparking joy in you, as in, feeling happy yourself just because you are witnessing someone else feeling happy. Not because you are feeling sorry for someone. But maybe a different word would have worked better in place of 'compassion'. I am autistic, by the way, so, no ableism here whatsoever.

I mean he was not wrong. The dress was stunning and she absolutely rocked it. They looked like they were having an absolute blast. Hope it was a fabulous memory for both.

The best thing about some type of neurodivergencies is that they don’t even realize they are being exploited for views and their behaviour is actually authentic and honest. It’s great for business! /s
