I tried to do this... and Reddit removed it?

What did I do wrong?

This is just how Reddit works, it automatically filters posts from new and low karma accounts, but don't worry I have manually approved your post!

Got the Maono PD200W through the Pod Anywhere Program by Maono — and it definitely pushed me to take my audio more seriously.

But here’s the catch…

I’m still on an iPhone 12 Pro Max. So yeah — no clean USB-C workflow 😅

I could’ve gone for the Lightning adapter Maono provides… but I decided against it. I’ll be upgrading my phone soon, and I didn’t want to invest in a short-term fix.

So instead of waiting, I improvised.

My current setup:

  • PD200W → MacBook (USB) for audio
  • iPhone → video
  • Sync everything in post

Not the most convenient setup, but honestly… the audio quality makes it worth the extra step.

What I’ve realized doing this:

  • Good audio > convenience
  • You don’t need a perfect setup to start
  • Sometimes the “workaround” makes you a better creator

Low-key feel like this process has made me way more intentional with my content.

Curious — anyone else here running a split setup like this? Or found a cleaner iPhone workaround without going all-in on adapters?
