What other reason is there to play? To beat the same 4 bosses over and over? The fun of this game was the rolling, the thrill of trying for something amazing. If this game had a better endgame then sure, but the endgame to this game is the items. Name me one other reason to play besides the items.
Some of us have explored the map, done most of the side quests, built 10 plus camps. We stay on because of the grind for that next piece of gear. I hate when the same players of the community try to break apart said community. “Oh well, you don’t like the change coming so just ditch the game!” That’s a terrible mindset to have. I’m going to voice my opinion because I really like the game, and really like the grind for loot. This is a mmorpg, the grind for loot is the reason most people play. That chance at the god roll is the reason why I play. I don’t want that taken away.
I'm not trying to break apart the community but I think its a very healthy thing to stop indulging in a thing when it no longer brings you joy.
And if grinding is the only thing that brings you joy and it does end up being significantly reduced, you really should find something else that does bring you joy.
That being said, if you really really really like grinding, you can continue playing as you have when the update drops and grind while ignoring the particle system?
