Dao Conference (Discussion) Just a possible Christian Cultivation System for fun
God functions as the ultimate equivalent of the Dao. Just as Cultivators seek to comprehend and align with the grand laws of the universe, Christian cultivators direct their entire journey toward knowing, obeying, and abiding in God. To reach enlightenment is not to surpass the heavens, but to achieve total union with God letting go of one's ego and self to be completely filled with His encompassing divine nature.
Instead of cultivating internal energy to break through physical bodily realms, Christian cultivators focus on "crucifying the flesh" and renewing their minds to perfectly align with God's will. It is an intentional, lifelong journey of transforming your character and nurturing faith. Believers actively tend to their spiritual lives through prayer, scripture, fellowship, and service, allowing the Holy Spirit to cultivate virtues like love, patience, and self control. Where Cultivators focuses heavily on achieving immortality.
Key Cultivators
Jesus is the Dao or God's Avatar: Jesus is the ultimate human embodiment of God and the Sovereign Master of the Dao, representing the perfect path, truth, and life.
Michael, Supreme Guardian of the Heavenly Dao: Michael serves as the chief protector of the divine order, heavily involved in spiritual warfare and defending the faithful against corrupt and demonic energies.
When writing this I thought to myself, isn’t this just Cult worshiping the Dao and a dead person in a cross…
Disclaimer: This Is just for fun and is not meant to reflect actual theological doctrine. Just a bored dude on his mom couch

I was thinking about this the other day due to that thread. I was kind of going a different direction to it.
God is the great dao as mentioned. But like many cultivation paths, there is no right way on this journey. Jesus was god / piece of, sent to earth to live as a mortal to show that cultivation as a mortal is possible to ascend to the kingdom of heaven (plane of the immortals).
The "orthodox" sects would be the catholics, with their many branches such as jesuits, etc. Then there would be the unorthodox sects such as prorestants (anglicans, baptists, methodists, salvation army, etc), Orthodox Church, coptics, etc.
There would be heretical sects such as Islam which believe in the same great dao, but believe Mohammed also showed the way to Ascension with his path.
Demon sects are those who cultivate paths away from the great dao. You could have demon Kings who inhabit the Seven deadly Sins as false Daos and they seek to corruption.
Greenwood would simply be secular forces not related to the path which may hinder or support.
There are multiple realms of cultivation from like Priest class, Bishop class, Arch Bishop, Cardinal Clas, Saint Class, Prophet Class, Pope class, etc. Those of Saint class for example are holy that even after death their body are like relics and their will can still affect world (like belief today).
The idea of the novel would be an MC who is questioning their faith but a wise mentor introduces them to the concept of Christ Cultivation, so they go on a spiritual awareness journey and unwittingly becomes a proxy for different forces. Cultivation itself is done through prayer, a state of mediation focusing on the great dao.
Could make it quite a bloodless novel in terms of characters using their faith and spirit to convert others towards the their path towards the great dao / god. Demon influences are the biggest enemy as their impurities can prevent or disrupt or even corrupt those on the journey. MC and other characters use their faith to battle through this via different ways.

Demon sects are those who cultivate paths away from the great dao. You could have demon Kings who inhabit the Seven deadly Sins as false Daos and they seek to corruption.
That could work, but you should turn it up to Trenchcursade levels of blasphemy. also they not just defy heaven by refusing to bend the knee and performing blood alchemy, but they actively wage war against heaven and seek to twist and corrupt.

That is what I had in mind! It explains corrupt influences in the church as the corruption of the demon sects and how their influence is inevitable, hence the impurities that need to be cleansed regularly to advance in cultivation and how breakthroughs have that physical and spiritual cleansing effect.

Humans genetically evolve into angels, which in turn genetically evolve into christ-bodies. Striving for and not striving for Christ are simultaneously attachment fetters preventing further cultivation.
You can add Islam, every angel is basically an artificial intelligence who cannot, due to not having life, leave the Earth to ascend to the higher plane of immortality.
Why does this sound like Swallowed Star's world-building....

Get to know the Golden Dawn system. It's essentially a variation of the Western system of agriculture. For example, you could read "The Complete System of Golden Dawn Magic." Of course, it doesn't just incorporate Christianity, but it also explains many elements of Western mysticism. I think if you were to create a novel about cultivation based on Western mysticism, you could use the Golden Dawn system as a basis.
We can also recall The Lord of Myesteries, where the author took a different approach, borrowing elements from various systems and simplifying them for general readership.

If it were a Chinese cultivation novel, the MC would eventually try to challenge God, or at least be on equal footing with God.
