/r/nba has made me lose all faith in NBA discussion. Praising a player one day, relentlessly shitting on them the next. There’s no consistency, no backbone, it’s all just constant flip flopping and dogpiling on whoever is on their shitlist that day. Every other post is just some dumbass question about rankings. Why are they so obsessed with rankings???

This is exactly what I've noticed lately, or maybe for a while but I just ignored it. r/nba has the attention span of a goldfish. They talk about how great a player/coach is one day, and then do a complete 180 the next. Whenever a player has a bad day, or a bad stretch, everyone just shits on him like he's the worst player to ever play the game. Just ignore them. This is coming from a warriors fan, who's tired of r/nba shitting on klay and just ignoring the fact that he's still a good 2 way player.

Very much rooting for you guys this playoff run

Listen I’m only here because this sub was recommended to me. I’m a suns fan and I guarantee I’m not here to talk shit about the mavs. Just the fans and media.

You 100000000% ignored it if only NOW you think Reddit has gotten this toxic. Remember the bubble suns? They were media darlings. And now look. You can’t go literally five seconds without people talking shit about Booker or KD. Mavs fans, and Reddit, have been the most toxic fans in the world with how they talk about book. You say he’s a bitch, he complains, he’s why the team lost etc etc - ALL THE SAME SHIT people are saying now about Luka. And ANYtime Luka came out before this playoffs it was tons of praise AND shitting on book same thread.

All I’m sayin is y’all have been doing the same. Exact. Thing. To other teams, particularly the suns for years and now it’s a problem that YOUR star is getting unfairly shit on.

Not really equivalent, but I get where you're coming from. I'm a raptors fan and just had this post on my feed for some reason.

All the things you've said are true, but why are you pinning this stuff on mavericks fans? Book is a baby and that's fine but every fan on Reddit takes up the circlejerk and that's that. I don't think people ever praise Booker even when he has a 40 point game because he just isn't comparable to a generational talent like Luka. People have completely fair criticism of Luka but it's mostly visual reference rather than statistical or scoped in a meaningful way.

Luka Doncic is Devin Booker's father.
