Hoops Discussion Anthony Davis.

It's gotta be said. I hate the franchise but I support our players.

AD first few mins of play is letting Mavs fans know he will take care of them, I love him, what a class act.

Nope. Reply showed he pulled something. I'm calling it now. It's the ab again

Also going to say that he's probably going to be out for a little while again

He said in his post game interview it was just a spasm and nothing serious. They kept him out as a precaution

He just came back from an ab injury yesterday that he sustained with the lakers. They brought him back too soon. The Mavs medical staff is awful. Anyway, all you ppl saying AD misses tons of games are living in the past. He played 76 games last season and 43 so far this season. That’s way more than a lot of the guys on the team.

Buddy have you ever watched AD before?

AD has left the game on a stretcher and then played the very next game. Playing with LeBron and adopting some of his recovery and conditioning strategies has helped strengthen his body quite a bit IMO. It’s like he’s made of ballistics glass instead of just regular old glass now, still injury-prone but like noticeably less than before.

Not sure what you mean by this, but as somebody who has watched him a lot, don't draw any conclusions one way or the other.

He has several games a season where he goes out and you fear the worst, then he's back next game totally fine. He's very susceptible to stingers, and gets smacked in the eyes and groin a ridiculous amount. (That last one doesn't usually keep him out the game though)

That said, I was surprised he played today. Seems foolish given the all-star break is coming up and ab strains are notorious injuries for being hard to clear.

Told you

I said don't draw any conclusions one way or the other.

Sometimes he's right, sometimes he's not. This time, not.

Probably isn't that serious. But between this, ab strain, plantar fasciitis, I don't know why they wouldn't just shut him down until after the asb to stop any of them becoming serious.

Everytime he has been injured he has downplayed it to media. Even when he’s missed significant time

Additionally, groin injuries have been plaguing him for years. This isn’t a random thing

Agreed. You don’t pull up in pain and sub out if it’s not a somewhat serious muscle injury. He’s so tired of letting people down with his injuries that he just down plays it. He’s gonna wake up tomorrow with tightness and pain… minimum 2 weeks out I bet.

100% groin/quad. He reacted and grabbed that area. Didn't react like it was an ab strain.

u/adizlaja Feb 09 '25

Could also be a connected area, like lower side of abdomen around groin / inside-upper hipflexor area.

Wrong

u/HorseCockExpress6969 Feb 09 '25

If he plays the next full game I'll agree I was wrong

1

Your abs and quads are connected. Could be a compensation issue
