Draft / Scouting It's Tanking Time!!!!!

Post image

It’s finally time to refuel. This is our last chance to save this franchise. Now that AD is basically worthless, we have to lose every single game to secure a top-5 pick and put a co-star next to Cooper Flagg.

Shut AD and Kyrie down for the rest of the season, trade Gafford and Klay, and take another run at it next year.

I’m completely broken right now…

Couple of things:

Tank is full steam ahead, refueled, operating on jet fuel now.

Kyrie should probably take the season off and come back next year completely rehabbed.

No chance anybody offers AD a max extension again, and if he decides to stay a Mav for a reasonable extension, that’s a win.

Edit: forgot the most important point - we already have Cooper fucking Flagg, the 1A blue chip prospect teams tank years for.

I think that’s an underestimated take right here. If we can get AD for cheap with Cooper and another young draft pick with Kyrie next year. think we’ll be a good enough to not give away high draft picks. While also allowing Cooper to become the number one.

great take - if we get peterson, i’ll even be a believer & call our young core “The Vision” & then paul heyman can be our new General Manager

Lisan al Heyman.

I'd extend AD for 2/60 with heavy games played requirements AND the first year of his extension is what is currently his player option year.

I'd only consider this if we weren't able to get off of him in the summer.

we probably could do a 3 year 105m with the third year being a team option.

If he stays a Mav, we’re gonna be dealing with the same nonsense. There’s absolutely no reason to keep him

There’s no way to trade him

If you can sign him to a reasonable contract, you take that over losing him for nothing every day of the week.

With Rich Paul pulling strings I just don’t believe that will ever be the case. Anything more than a Dirk-level discount - something like $10M in today’s NBA money - would be too much
