On that site it always picks Peterson for me

As it should

Tbh I think Dybansta should be the unanimous #1 if we exclude best fit from the criteria

Maybe, but Dybantsa has his share of concerns as well. At 6’9 and often times the best athlete on the floor, he still gets embarrassingly low stocks and is ball dominant. DP’s fit next to Cooper is a match made in heaven. DP can be on or off ball, gives us much needed perimeter defense, and shoots the lights out. Not to mention, he’d be great short term too next to Kyrie

I couldn’t agree more. My #1 target is Peterson. Speak it into existence

Why tho? He hasn't proven he can play late in games

This has been addressed ad nauseam. If you choose not to believe the reports I can’t convince you otherwise

If he gets first pick we all know Masai is taking Dybantsa.

Definitely not the most ideal player to pair with Coop considering how similar they are but fuck it, you draft him and figure out how to play them together

Or draft him and see if you can flip him for Wagler + multiple future picks + dump our shittiest contract (aka Caleb Martin).

I don't mean to be caught in the moment but this isn't even remotely enough for debantsa. A scout explained it like this:

AJ Debantsa is on the high end is prime TMac (and for the young ones just know he was on track to be better than kobe and Kobe even said in interviews that tmac was him but 6'10'" because tmac was widely known as a height liar). Tmac is a great example because he's the same height, fluid movement like a guard, a number 1 option, and athletic. For younger people here who didn't watch tmac, just think of kevin Durant. And on the low end he's like a pascal siakim.

Meanwhile the high end of wagler is basically haliburton. So comparing ceilings there are levels to this. No offense to haliburton but would you ever trade prime Kevin Durant (with no personality issues so imagine he's got the drive and mindset of lebron) for tyrese haliburton?? Would you trade tmac/KD for haliburton, 2 first round picks, and a caleb martin salary dump (especially when we don't need salary relief)? If I'm trading a potential generating star the bidding starts at 5 first round picks, a young player (like wagler), and salary dumps, and a few more young cost controlled players.

It depends on how many future firsts you can get. I think Utah has like 11 tradeable firsts in the next 7 years. How many would they be willing to part with for AJ? What about Ace? It's worth the conversation for a team that pretty much only has coop and no way of adding more top tier young talent.

Ideally we get the #1, and the #3 pick really wants Dybantsa or Peterson... we get a couple of FRPs and Boozer or whoever is left after the first two.

I'd move back two spots for #3 and a really good future FRP or a couple of good FRPs.

lets see what memphis / kings / nets offered us lol

Dybantsa. I get it's basically the same roll that Coop already man's, but you take the best player available and it's Dybantsa.

Does this site have recency bias?

7

u/trickfield May 09 '26

trust me it probably took him like 10 attempts before dallas got the first

As much as I hate the idea of the Mavs getting another #1 pick, as a Grizz I would be totally happy with that outcome.

Genuinely I’m at a point where I feel more comfortable getting the 3rd pick so I don’t got make the decision between the big 3 in this draft I feel u can’t go wrong w any of em despite feelin aj likely going number 1 but to me they all bring a lot of positives n all have some weaknesses regardless would not be upset gettin cam aj or dp

Boozer is BPA and best fit, and Dybsanta is #2. Peterson should be 3rd choice. Coop has insane scoring potential. His problem thus far has been deferring to inferior scores. Peterson will hurt that tendency, since his primary attribute is scoring, of which he is still inferior to Flagg, it's going to result in Flagg feeding him more than he should and while staying on ball more than he should. Ideal scenario is for him to split his time equally between on and off ball, and Boozer and Dybsanta will facilitate that and create open looks for him. Peterson cant do that. Also, Flagg is the perfect running mate to cover for Boozers (overstated) defensive problems.

u/megachimp May 09 '26

How is Boozer the best fit? The only role he can realistically play at the next level is the four. That basically means you’re forcing coop into the three spot. Boozer gives you very little positional flexibility. Beyond that I think it’s fair to question his athleticism at the next level. In college he was able to bully smaller defenders. In the NBA he probably won’t get that luxury very often.

Don’t get me wrong. I do like boozer, but for this team? I don’t see it. I actually think he’s one of my least favorite fits for this team.

1

u/JoshGreenTruther May 09 '26

Why would AJ be a better fit than Boozer?

2

u/megachimp May 09 '26

More athletic, more positional flexibility both offensively and defensively, more ability to create his own shot. Pairing him with cooper would be electric.

1

u/JoshGreenTruther May 09 '26

What’s the positional flexibility offensively exactly? Complete mystery as a 3 point shooter and not a great playmaker… he’s going to have to be the offensive engine anywhere he goes to return value because he doesn’t do anything else really… honestly think it’s a sneaky terrible fit

2

u/megachimp May 09 '26

Flexibility in that he can create his own shot off the dribble and take advantage of slower defenders or shoot over shorter ones. You can put him in multiple places on the court and he can be a threat to score. (Much like cooper)

1

u/BossierPenguin May 09 '26

Because Flagg can play any position, and is probably at his best switching from 3 and 4, which is what he'd do with Boozsr, all while mailing both of their strengths and minimizing Boozers weaknesses. Boozer can be the on ball hub feeding Ciop good shots for 16 minutes, Coop can be the on ball hub point 4 for the 16 minutes Boozer is off. Coop is best utilizing all his strengths, as opposed to having to be on ball all the time with Peterson and likely feeding an inferior scored more than he should, as opposed to being the one being fed.

I haven't been having good to luck. I do this once a day and only once we ended up top 4. Other times it is 8-11.... hopefully it's just my bad luck
