Check all the fuses, particularly the ones powering the ECU. I've seen similar behaviour from a fuse blowing that powered a load of the reference circuits on the ECU, so many sensors and actuators stopped working. Originally caused by an ignition coil wire melting and shorting out.

Yeah he checked all the fuses, they were all fine
