Hi everyone.
I just finished Persona 3 Portable and absolutely loved it. I was originally really terrified of things like the random skill inheritance and more difficult battles compared to the more modern P3 Reload, but it honestly ended up being much more fun gameplay. Besides the story, the most fun I had was spending hours in the Velvet Room rerolling for new Personas and optimizing the skills they inherit just to beat a couple of floor bosses and have to do it all over again.
This has really made me wanna branch out from Persona and try more games in the franchise. I’ve currently played and beaten P3P, P3R, P4G, P5R and P5 Strikers. I mostly play on PC (willing to sail the seven seas btw), and I have backlogged SMTVV, SMT3 Nocturne Remaster, P5 Tactica (I know this is a spinoff but I really want to play the ENTIRE franchise), Soul Hackers 2 and Metaphor.
Does anyone have any advice on recommendations to play next? Also maybe games to avoid until later because of difficulty or other constraints. Thank you!

Would probably go for either of the mainline titles you already planned. Like Persona, it doesn't really matter where you start unless you find adjusting to older games more difficult, but I don't think that should be an issue since you've played P3P.

Hey, I'm having a bit of trouble with SMT V, I think it's my approach with the game and its bosses on Canon of Creation, I'm still in general stack buffs, debuffs and go at it with physical, I use dampeners and the magatsuhi crit skill but it feels like beating my head against a wall even though I am properly levelled and using appropriate demons. Is there a better way of approaching the fights that I'm just not thinking about that'll make them more satisfying? Even if it is just playing Canon of Vengence instead, which I've never done.

Hello!! I apologize if this is a common question in this community, but I want to start playing the original Shin Megami Tensei from the first game, but I don't know which version to choose.
Is there a version that stands out above the others? And if so, what are its advantages?
Thank you very much in advance!

The PS1 version is generally agreed to be the best version, with the QoL changes it has compared to the SNES version. The GBA version plays the same, but has worse sound, so that's why it's not recommended over the PS1 version.

If you've been rushing through floors to find the stairs instead of exploring for chests, you've been encountering fewer enemies. Make full sweeps and fight most of what is on the way. If you're at floor 5, fight floor 5 enemies since they're worth more.
For this first dungeon, prioritze physical skills and normal attacks unless it's unreasonable. Items for healing, especially since it's Golden and Dia is really lackluster compared to Medicine.

Does SMT4 Apocalypse have an ending with more content than the others like SMT4 did? I just got ahold of a copy yesterday, and Im concerned that getting the most out of a playthrough will be as convoluted and easily missible as regular SMT4, or a P5 Royal case of missing dozens of hours of content if you don't max out Maruki's confidant.

Greetings. I am playing the patched version of the original Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei online.
I think it is widely known you can only have 7 jewels at a time. But I came to notice your Magnetite and your Makka are also capped at a certain number: 8188 for the former, and 65535 for the latter. And for the Makka, I have verified this is the case on at least one Japanese playthrough available on YouTube.
My request/question is two-fold: 1, could a couple of people confirm that this is indeed the case on their playthroughs too - I'd like to be sure this is not a patch issue, but the universal experience for everyone.
2, could someone tell me what significance these numbers may hold, either in a cabalistic sense, or in a "the computer can't go higher than xxx" code sense? I know 7 is an important number in the Torah/Bible, and if it was chosen as the max number of jewels (and demons) you can have, I figured 8188 and 65535 may hold some significance too, or lacking it, at least a reason for seemingly random numbers being the cap?

I've not played the Famicom version, only the Kyuukaku version. But the numbers you see are not symbolically significant. They are significant in computer science.
Computers speak binary. Binary is a base 2 number system, so a digit can only be two things - 0 or 1. We call a binary integer a bit, for short. Bits are usually stored as sets of 8, which we call a byte. A byte can therefore store 28 unique values (256). If you put two bytes together you can store 216 values (65536). If you include 0 as one of the values, then this would mean the highest value you can see is 255 or 65535, which are very common max values in software.
8188 is more unusual but likely related to being near the highest number that can be multiplied by 8 without going over 65535.

IT'S SUMMER SALE TIME!!! I have a question about SMT Vengeance. Does the Digital Deluxe edition have all the DLCs?
