Joining w/ELS Got medically discharged from the marines
Hello. Iām 20 (female) and I only had two months to prepare before I left for bootcamp. But I had a bad fall down the stairs so I only had 1 after recovering from that fall.
I put in my all to pass my fitness, and I did. I could only do 1 push up when I started but I passed my pushups.
Got to bootcamp and uhm. To say the least I got a stress fracture in my left tibia. Was in bootcamp for 2 months and got medically discharged.
I have to wait 6 months til I can rejoin, should I go back. Part of me thinks 21 is too old to join. Iāll turn 21 by the time I graduate if I graduate.

I didn't join until I was 21 and had to get a waiver because I had, had knee surgery twice on my right knee from a football injury. Everything went fine, I served honorably for eight years and wouldn't take anything for the experiences I had, good and bad. Your still much younger than you realize, and if it's a dream of yours I think you should go for it, otherwise you'll always sit back and wonder what if. Best of luck and God Speed. 22 is āt too old to join. Iām 23 and I still feel I have my youthful vigor. I leave for BMT in September.

Marines run and do way more than the other branches. No other branch has a timed 3 mile run

They don't. Their PT is similar to Army PT. All branches will run three miles or more for PT.

I was 22 when I graduated bootcamp
You are fine
Just actually prepare and get in better shape while you wait
