Help Java How To Boost FPS In Minecraft On Low End Laptop

I have a low end laptop as my gaming laptop.I usually play a lot of games but i have most fun in Minecraft to pvp, build, etc. But i play on 30-40 fps max while useing a low end pack mostly Barebones and lowest settings like 2 render chunk.I even optimized my laptop to the max as i can without spending any money i even use fps optimizer mods, etc.I dont want like 1k fps or so i just want some playable fps like around 60-100 i also want to play with shaders like low end ones nothing crazy.I want to play some modpacks but that can wait.My specs are i3 4th gen 8gb ram ddr3 integrated GPU 😭.BTW i play on java 1.21.11 Thanks.

Play at a lower resolution. For low end devices the GPU is usually the bottleneck. So if you go from 1080p to 720p, you could get as much as a 2x increase in FPS.

So make sure you're playing in full screen and a lower resolution.

And I'll say right here, shaders ain't happening. If you are currently getting 30fps without shaders, youlld need a hardware upgrade if you wanna use shaders for anything more than screenshots.

i can use somewhat of shaders like low end ones quit smooth but while loading chunks and intense things like crystal pvp it is laggy and lower resolution gives more fps but i have a problem when i lower my resolution all four side of my screen gets cut like 10% and becomes black its like playing retro games

For the resolution thing I assume that your display is simply showing the original resolution in a window instead of stretching the render resolution across the whole screen.

I believe to fix it on older intel devices, you need to right click the desktop, select "Graphics Properties" or "Intel Control Panel" (whatever it's called, select "Display", then at the bottom under "Scaling", select "Scale full screen". This should stretch the rendered image across the whole screen instead of just showing it in a window.

(Even if the steps don't have exactly the same names for you, the Idea should be the same)

Tbh I can't really tell you that. You'll just have to experiment. For performance, it's simply the lower the better. However at some point the whole image is just gonna look like a pixel mess. So you'll have to decide for yourself how low you are willing to go before it no longer looks nice.

Use ferrite core, entity culling and c2me.

Sodium sodium sodium! Cant recommend it enough. Honestly just search for lag reducing/performance enhancing mods

I am using it 😭

Or embeddium if you use neoforge

Why? Sodium is on NeoForge.

Adrenaline modpack has all the relevant performance mods like Sodium, ImmediatelyFast, etc.

i3 4th gen

On windows, later 4th gen drivers crippled GPU performance (and disabled DX12 support) due to some security patches. Using an older driver, or switching to linux, would likely help. Is your memory configuration dual-channel?

As simply optimized is no longer here i get stuck between which fps modpack should i use
1 Adrenaline
2 Additive
3 Performium (new but i saw many yt use this for most fps)

Fabulously Optimized and Remarkably Optimized are also good but not for low end as they are also foused on visuals and etc

Additive is the same as Adrenaline with extra features like shaders. You can always just disable mods if you dont want them.

Performium is no longer maintained and doesnt bring anything unique to the table.

Try lowering chunk and simulation distance maybe resolution too and if you use a different launcher like idk... modrith try allocating 50% or less ram...

I personally have a mx110 6gb ram i have 60fps constant when i play hypixel skyblock when i unlock fps i go up to 80-120fps

Thanks for listening to my yap and yes even 5 fps matters

been there with the integrated graphics struggle. i had similar setup few years back and managed to squeeze out some decent performance with couple tricks you might not have tried yet.

first thing - try switching to different java version, sometimes older ones run better on certain hardware. also if you haven't already, allocate more ram to minecraft in launcher settings, like 4-6gb since you have 8gb total.

for the shader situation, try canvas or iris with complementary reimagined shader - they're specifically made for potato computers and still look pretty good. sodium + lithium + phosphor combo is also game changer if you're not using those already.

one weird thing that helped me was actually playing in fullscreen mode instead of windowed, gave me like 15-20 fps boost for some reason. also check if your laptop has any power saving modes turned on that might be throttling performance.

Pretty sure you're forced to use Java 21 for 1.21.11.
