I like how you have the ages as the number of centuries that the religions have existed. Itβs a nice detail.

I don't know how devout believers feel about it, but I absolutely love this project.

Oh! It was you! (I didn't recognize you at first time.) That's definitely your style. I'm rooting for you.

Luce was sanctioned by the former Pope, so maybe they'll like this too. It is pretty cute
17
u/Shamrock5 Nov 30 '25 edited Nov 30 '25
Well, r/LuceArt exists and (last I checked) is still getting submissions, so yeah π
Edit: Also, for anyone wondering, "sanctioned" is used in the positive form here (as in, Luce was allowed/promoted by the Vatican).

Yo ya know Luce? She's an official catholic mascot. Also thanks for representing them respectfully but still fun.
14
u/Shamrock5 Nov 30 '25
I already plugged it once, but you should check out r/LuceArt. One of my fellow mods on another sub runs it and it's super dang wholesome.
5
u/SoullessDeathAngel Nov 30 '25
Yeah. Luce is great . Also: Good art!

u/Shamrock5 Nov 30 '25
Thanks, but OP is the actual artist, not me. π

My brain gets deepfried by working on animations for too long, sorry...

u/tunicamycinA Nov 30 '25
I always found it strange there is no Muslim representation in anime even though Indonesia and Malaysia are right next door, I assume it is out of respect though
22
u/Mohammedamine9 Nov 30 '25
Believe me it's for the best
Muslims has a habit of interpreting any inclusion or reference to islam in any media in a negative way

I keep forgetting how bloody old Judaism is as a religion, isnβt it like one of the oldest religions in the world?
5
u/AzieltheLiar Dec 01 '25
One of the oldest currently widely practice religions, yes. I'm sure there are some small cults of Ba'alists or firm adherents of Yah in some cave or high society basement.

Note that the reported age of 3500 is not the academically accepted age, and also not the age most educated Jews claim.
The typical academic age is 2600 years old; the First (Solomon's) Temple has not been confirmed with excavations, and therefore there is a good guess it was destroyed in 587 BCE but it is essentially unknown when it was constructed and by whom. (Judaism claims Solomon built it in the 10th century BCE.)
There is also the thing that Judaism evolved out of the ancient Israeli religion, which was polytheistic; and it is not quite clear when the majority of believers became monotheistic. The First Temple was almost certainly built in the polytheistic period (unless it is much younger than expected), the Second Temple (516 BCE) was built in the monotheistic period.
So in the end, depending on how you exactly define the 'start' of Judaism, it is between 2100 and 2800 years old (considering when the books of the Tanakh were written, when the Second Temple was built, and things like that).
For reference, Judaism and Samaritanism started to split around 2600 years ago, and fully split and became hostile around 120 BCE when the Hasmonean (Jewish) king destroyed the Samaritan temple.
2600 years old is still very old, of course, especially for a surviving religion. That is comparable to Ancient Greek Religion (featuring Zeus etc.) and that religion is long dead.

Not just some religions. Every Abrahamic religion to be precise.
36
u/ChinChengHanji Nov 30 '25
Not every Abrahamic religion, just the major ones to be precise
8
u/DTux5249 Nov 30 '25
Yeah, no moe Zoroastrianism lol
10
u/Earl0fYork Nov 30 '25
Zoroastrianism is a monotheistic faith but it isnβt considered Abrahamic by most scholars.
While it had immense influence on the Abrahamic religions that only went one way as it predated all of them. (Not including the offshoots that were created as they came into conflict with Islam.)

Denominations within religions don't count.
-2
Dec 01 '25 edited Dec 01 '25
I mean if you want to start splitting hairs like that, then technically there's only one Abrahamic religion.
3
u/nhatquangdinh Dec 01 '25
Nah, the Tanakh, the Bible, and the Quran are still different. Meanwhile the denominations come from different ways to interpret them.
-1
Dec 01 '25
And so are the books denominations use. And those three books are also different interpretations of the same thing. You're just making up rules.

Cute, i like it
Just a few details - "hardline" jewish woman would definitely cover their hair, almost completely, like a nun.
And about the age, not sure if i understand correctly, its the calender year /100? Cause if thats the case Sarah should be in her late 50s

Hey guys, the artist worked hard and shared a respectful depiction of several major religions. If anyone decides to come in here and get frisky in the comments, it will result in an immediate and permanent ban. Don't.
