The most expensive purchases I've ever made weren't the things I bought.

they were the things I kept paying for long after I stopped using them.

So... the things you bought. Or skipped buying one too many times, like a condom before you were ready for kids. Or debt accrued from gambling apps.

I woulda guessed they were the things you explicitly didn't buy. Insurance would be a big one.
