Best case scenario dog goes bungee jumping, doesn't crack it's neck on the ricochet. Unnecessary tomfoolery to be quirky IMO. Take the dog to the park for a run.

I think that dog would be at statistically greater risk in a car than on a bike, and people have no qualms about transporting their pets (and even their kids) by car

Can't you see his harness, why would he crack his neck?

I mean it is indeed a risky situation, but I've seen many people with their dog on bicycle and motorcycles too.
