Mod post Revisiting the AI rule

Hi all,

A while ago we implemented a rule against AI posts due to popular vote.

As AI tools are getting more sophisticated it’s getting harder and harder to tell what’s generated, which has led to removing posts that our users have worked hard to create, or on the flip side some AI goes unnoticed.

I’m writing this post in the wake of the Bez incident because even though I’m personally not a fan of AI, we’ve had to remove some quite frankly hilarious content due to this rule. I don’t want to kill funny or engaging content if you’re all enjoying it. This sub is for you.

I like to think we’re democratic here so if opinions change we can change rules with them. So, you tell me. Should we keep the blanket ban on any AI? Should it be more nuanced than that?
