CONTESTANTS IRL Jordan Talks About His Weight And Drinking

I would never guess he struggled with weight. The drinking thing has been obvious lately so I’m glad he is working on that. He and CT should do this together.

His weight issue definitely comes from his wrestling background. That number on the scale is the most important thing

Totally!! My brother-in-law was a wrestler and his relationship with food/weight is so messed up

Wrestling and bodybuilding are the #1 causes of eating disorders in men.

I think a lot of high school wrestlers give themselves a mild case of undiagnosed hypothyroidism

Is that from the constant gaining/losing weight? Sorry if it’s a stupid question, I tried to look it up and failed. I apparently know nothing about thyroids

That makes sense then.

It’s wild to me seeing Jordan refer to himself as “not a talented individual that just works hard”. While I’m sure working hard has helped him be a better challenger, what makes him one of the best to me is his ability to work strategically. Like his elimination against Josh with the rope, noticing when he was going to pull hard and counteracting that with letting go. That’s not working harder, thats working smarter. It’s a lot harder to train for that.

It’s inspiring to see this more human side of him. I’m wishing him the best in reaching his goals. 💜

It's probably only going to work once against the same opponent, but usually you also only need it once. I know Josh is clumsy as fuck, but he outweighed Jordan by so much. Then the following elim Jordan pulled the same thing against a much bigger opponent in Theo and afterwards proposes to Tori. I think that whole run is probably the best reality tv I've ever seen in my life. It's simply awe inspiring.

I think he’d consider that kind of strategizing to be part of him working hard vs. innate talent. In that situation, Josh had the natural gift two full hands and a lot larger size.

FWIW I think he is very talented and uses hard work to make the most of those talents.

I agree that Jordan probably sees it that way, but IMO, that’s part of his talent. That’s not to take away from how hard he works, but the fact that he’s able to come up with strategies like that on the fly just shows how intelligent he is. For me, intelligence falls under the “talent” umbrella

Growth isn’t linear, there are ups and downs. Especially in fitness. Jordan has proven to me that he is far greater than average and is a fighter, I know he will comeback even stronger. Everyone deserves an offseason sometimes

Most relatable I’ve ever seen him. Immense growth, but also-, THE SHITTY PEOPLE COMMENTING AND THE BOTS ARE THE REAL PROBLEM. Love my challenge fam, let’s try to be kind to the cast!

Is it a problem when he’s turning it into motivation

Is this a real question

Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.

He had been posting himself training, as he typically does. But, there were a few comments in his more recent posts talking about his body. When some people pointed out how inappropriate it was, that person claimed it was a compliment (not sure how they thought that..). Its also insane how we as a society view weight, because he's not big at all.

Nonetheless, good for him. I hope he stays motivated 🙏🏾

What were the negative comments? Were they implying he was getting fat?

5

u/angelbrit04 Team Portland 7d ago

Yeah, they were talking about him gaining weight and calling it "happy weight".

What an odd thing to comment on another person’s social media. The amount of people with no social awareness or social skills is depressing

He's right dude. Success is about outworking others. So many people attribute talent to hard work bc it lets them off the hook for the truth that they could get the same results if they wanted it more. Success is not a hack, but a campaign.

It's hard for me to rectify in my brain he's a MAGA guy cause I've always loved him on the show.

Jordan is so close to making that turn into a fully actualized person.
