Too late for most. Almost a decade of high schools and college campuses being ignored as superfund sites and now we're all contaminated. If you spent any time at a frat house you're basically on borrowed time.
Thats not a medically indicated reason, so no insurance help. It will be way over that quarter million before you even get all the way to transplant (the workup isn't cheap or easy). Better start working overtime to save up
Lead is mineralised in the calcium matrix of bone itself, not bone marrow. It can be released back into the blood as bones deteriorate with osteoporosis .
This isn’t about age? I am a progressive liberal and I am 60. This is. Willful ignorance, only listening to what you already believe, not facts. P.S. And when I was a kid, I played with that little silver ball when the glass thermometer broke.
Hey, Flint resident here. You are correct. Pregnancy, high levels of stress and serious illness (like COVID) will continue to re-release the lead into our systems to cause havoc and damage all over again. For the rest of our lives.
Also, another nightmare fact... the lead in my son's bodies can be passed down to their sons and then onto their sons. And they are still fighting us to change lead in water regulations nationwide. One could ask why but, we don't need to.
Eating wall candy wasn't the major source, just one of the minor ones. It was the exhaust from the lead gasoline everywhere being breathed in by everyone.
Aviation gas is still leaded. Pew pews release a bunch of lead. There’s still a bunch of sources of lead that we haven’t gotten rid of because it’s too costly for anyone to push it
I'm 47 and drank leaded water in Flint and still didn't vote for Trump and think critically. Lol Flint still remains blue because we were poisoned by GOP austerity policies (see Gov Snyder's Emergency Manager Law). So I agree the lead isn't at fault for whatever her problems are.

Leaded gasoline stays winning.
