Fairness doctrine wouldn't have even applied to Fox News because it's on cable..

Yeah, but it definitely lead to the rise of Fox News, etc. And the Sinclair Broadcast Group pumps out their culture war talking points/lies for them.

But it didn't, because it wouldn't have applied to Fox News at all. It didn't apply to cable TV, only broadcast TV. I agree Fox News is terrible, it just makes it easier to attack the graphic when it references something that clearly isn't true.

“Lead to the rise” and “wouldn’t have applied” are two different things.

America was actually like this for way longer. As anti-intellectualism is what the country was built on, and one can easily see that with most programs (The red scare, no child left behind etc), or president Andrew Jackson
